"I'm An Internet Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here."
Aside from all moral (or ethical judgement) on Mr Tate, he went around bigging up his lifestyle and wealth and making a point of belittling the justice system and rule of law in the country he was living in. It looks bad for politicians, judges, police... the people who direct those systems. Very, very foolish arrogance. He's not even like Trump. Trump makes money for those around him, ordinary establishment politicians, journalists and businesmen can work with him, the sort of people who can put up a fight to protect their joint enterprise. Tate? Nah. He's got a handful of new money / new media people, some ties with criminality.
A little boy's idea of a man, even if there's no conviction, they'll take everything and keep running him round in circles, he'll end up locked up or banned from the country and ruled undesirable in most others. That ought to be his focus, finding an outsider nation where he can do his thing - but I don't think he has the pull or "social" skills. Russia would work, but I doubt they'd be interested. I imagine the people who matter in such cases think he's a flash in the pan.
