I just dont think Rice is the answer. I dont rate him that highly. nowhere near the football IQ to Rodri, Gundo, KDB etc.

I am thinking more like Kimmich level, or F. de Jong etc. with ability to create havoc by creating chances close to the box, set the tempo which is a bit different here at City and in CL than at WHU etc.

Kev gets too emotionally charged to be captain for me, it’s great as a player but to lead others I’m not so sure. Dias is much calmer and shown he can motivate.

Absolutely - sad to see him leave, but we move on as we have after other Legends have left.

There is no better “lead by example” player for me than Kev. Those big games he always delivers and carries the team quite often.

A Captain should carry the team and motivate them in all games not just the big ones… When we see him and Pep going at it on the sidelines during a match it doesn’t screen captain to me. He’s fantastic and I love that passion but we need calm not aggression or anger on the pitch.

While True, it's almost impossible to overlook Kevin. He is the best player, City's greatest ever player, and the last and only Member left from the Pre-Pep era.

He is by right, class and seniority the only option.

Granted, when he is on the mend, Dias will be my choice with Walker, Stones and Rodri as vices

Downgrade to what? As of now we still don’t know who is leaving. You can’t compare departure to arrivals. Each player will bring different qualities. Gundo used to get buckets of shit for not producing until pep allowed him to play further forward. Foden needs to be starting regularly in the middle. Would you say he is an upgrade on Gundo?

The club just won a treble, we need to freshen up the squad. I don’t agree he is a downgrade as we don’t know how he will be used.

I think he does the same in all games. The fact he does it in the big games is special.

I know what you are saying. He is emotional but so I’d Dias, so is Walker. They are professional players so will always see that.
