Holidays

Some people at my company buy holidays. Yes they pay hundreds of pounds out of their salary for an extra week or two off. We already get 24 days plus bank holidays
I get 25 days plus bank holidays but I’ve taken 3 days unpaid leave so far this year so that I can fit all my holidays in. When you consider that a lot of what you are giving up is tax, it’s worth it for a few hundred quid.

If I’m lucky enough to reach old age, I’m fairly certainly I won’t be lamenting taking a few extra days off rather than working!

I buy annual leave. I get 28 days plus bank holidays and have the option to buy an extra 5 taken from my salary and I always do. Got three young kids and having had the ability to see more of them through the lockdown period I know how important it is to spend that time with them rather than at work. I work to live rather than the other way round, something that also changed following lockdown.

Nothing wrong with it, I get 25 plus BH, plus 2 "volunteer days" and can buy 15 days. I do it every year and it doesn't cost as much as you think due to the tax saving. Its one of the flexible things that keeps me working at my current place.

Canaries any good that time of year?
