Holidays

Does anyone think 7 nights in Santorini is worth the holiday length sacrifice over 12 nights in places like Portugal, Spain, Corfu or the Canary Islands? Late August as well. It’s too expensive for the same length
My daughter went for a day trip to santorini when we were in crete. I personally couldn't be bothered with the ferry journey. She said a day was enough as it was like a cattle market. You could possibly do something similar but spend a few nights in two different locations. Going to zante this year as I love Greek food but I really do fancy a trip to Portugal.

Agree, I've been on a cruise which stopped there, probably lovely when the 2/3 ships cleared off ... Spent forever in the cable car queue to get back to sea level.....likely lovely in a quiet cove mind you.

Went to Santorini for a week about 7 years ago. Had a great time, was there for a wedding. It was before I had kids though, so I had more cash and was happy to get taxis around the island to visit the touristy bits (Oia for all the white buildings cascading down the hillside). We stayed near Perissa, so just the other side of the mountain from Kamari. We got a boat from Perissa to Kamari one evening to meet up with friends, and it seemed like a good spot.

Would certainly recommend going, but cant tell you if you should sacrifice another few days holiday elsewhere!
