I think he's a bit poo. £100m, we'd be having our pants pulled downI honestly don't rate him to this level and don't see what he would bring to us that we couldn't get cheaper elsewhere.
Gravenbach would give us the exact same thing for less than half the price. I'll rather just give those minutes to Doyle or some other kid from the youth set up.I honestly don't rate him to this level and don't see what he would bring to us that we couldn't get cheaper elsewhere.
I agree. When I watch West Ham he’s not a wow player and doesn’t do anything spectacular. He’s good, works hard, does the simple things well a bit like he does for England but I think we should be after players better than good.I honestly don't rate him to this level and don't see what he would bring to us that we couldn't get cheaper elsewhere.
Are we just teaching Arsenal a lesson? Don’t see where Rice fits for us. It does make sense if we are just fucking Arsenal over.
That's the standard price for an English player. He's as much a £100m signing as Grealish was. Personally think he'll end up at Arsenal.
60M plus Phillips is a decent deal to be fair. He's as much a £100m signing as Grealish was. Personally think he'll end up at Arsenal.
Love this argument that he's good enough for Arsenal but not for City so he should sign for Arsenal.Hypothetically he gets sold on being a regular starter for arsenal and a shoo-in for captain in the near future, for a team on the up, that pushed us for the league this year, who only want to improve and him signing adds to that (plus a bonus of not having to leave London)…. Whereas he may not get the same guarantees from us, regarding guaranteed starts etc.
I’m just playing devils advocate, but it’s not as straight forward as you put it. It’s not, choose City or you haven’t the mental fortitude and will to win etc.
Arsenal is in LondonThis is basically where I’m at. If we get him then I think he’ll be a fantastic signing but if we don’t get him (and have done what we can to do so fee-wise with what West Ham want) but he chooses Arsenal then I’ll be glad we don’t get him.
Why would you choose Arsenal? The champions of the 5 of the last 6 seasons want you, the current treble winners and Champions League holders managed by Pep Guardiola who not only has proven himself to be one of the best ever but also excels in player (specifically midfielder) improvement and you choose Arsenal because you want to stay in London…?
It sounds like sour grapes, it’s not because we won’t know his mindset until the day the transfer is done either way.
Nah! Grealish actually had superstar potential. Rice looks like a lifetime solid playerHe's as much a £100m signing as Grealish was. Personally think he'll end up at Arsenal.
Rice is a good solid pro, nothing flashy, but does his job well and with consistency.Nah! Grealish actually had superstar potential. Rice looks like a lifetime solid player
