My Dad knows his Grandad. So I asked for some ITK info. Turns out that 'know him' means he's drank with him a few times and they don't have each others details.

Press like for more ITK info from me, my Dad and Rice's Grandad should he decide to frequent the same bar again for a few pints of guinness.

Don't see Arsenal getting him. 3rd bid will be 100 million I'm going to guess, but it will be the same installments over 6 years and I don't see West ham agreeing to it.

This thread is fascinating because every 5 pages or so you get people declaring the tide has shifted to one way or another based on absolutely fuck all. One moment he's coming to us, the next it's "done and dusted", and you're trying to figure out if people are responding to a piece of news or something, and it's always based on nothing? Can't you people just calm down it's been literally a day since news came out we're in for him! Just get a grip lol

Disappointing if we don‘t get him, would have been a very good signing. Squad looking a bit low on numbers for challenging for four trophies plus world club cup next season. Could really do with a high quality midfielder and/or a quick winger.

Of the midfielders available who would have improved us, that’s Bellingham, Mac Allister now probably Rice we’re set to miss out on, two of whom are going to league rivals. Does anyone think Kovacic or Phillips are actually as good as those? They’re certainly not as good as Gundo, he’s a big loss that’s gone unreplaced.

I'm guessing we were in for Bellingham as he is hyped as a worldwide and he ended up at Madrid. Had we got him do you think Madrid would be interested in Rice. Not a cat in hell's chance.

For me Phillips stays. Confident he will come good next year.
I hope he does but Kalvin needs a huge step up in his performance level, especially his physicality. I was really disappointed that he seemed slow and ponderous getting about the pitch. Rodri had shades of that in his first season but I saw loads of promising stuff too. Kalvin in the main has missed the latter.

On the flip side it’s the running power of Rice. allied to really good play that excites me. He gets around the pitch very well and would bring a different dynamic to our midfield.

The bookies expect Rice to go to City right now....
The bookies probably don’t have an opinion as such, they probably just covering where the money is going.

A bookie could expect him to go to Arsenal but if all the money starts going on City, those odds get shorter and Arsenals longer.

Be very brave bookie otherwise

Exactly what West Ham wanted. All the talk of City preparing a bid came from the West Ham end and not from City sources, right? Are we just being used? Not convinced we are actually going to be making an offer but we’ll see.

Maybe, but that’s also exactly the line I’d have expected Sami and his pals to write tonight. Have to fill tomorrow’s paper with something ‘new’ about it.
