Who is Rice replacing? That's the question to ask because it's not Gundo. Kovacic has been given Gundos number also pep has wanted Kovacic for years theres your Gundo replacement Peps wanted him since before Chelsea. So where does Rice fit in?

I agree... I think the abject choke job they put in at the end of the season will rock their confidence to the core. TBH last year was an off year for multiple teams and of course we turned in a worldie staying the course.
 
The reaction to Declan rice i find funny personally.

Youve got arsenal fans who are more happy theyve potentially got one over on city than they are to actually potentially signing the player. Its not as deep as people think its been quoted multiple times he wants london. Im sorry if thats literally the reason he picks you then its laughable anyway. But this fickle fanbase will be calling for artetas head again next season especially if it doesnt go well. They spent the best part of last season telling everyone party was best then why need for replacing him. Theyll be calling us cheats and were ruining football again if we win it. Because i actually see them having more of a struggle next season. I think now teams have worked out how they play, i dont think arteta has a plan B.

Then the city fans who are worried about who we are signing dont be, if its not rice it will be some quality player who will help us achieve what we want to again. Do i think rice moves the needle no i dont. But stop fretting were litterally still in june.

Sullivan has got what he wanted and thats for arsenal to panic and actually give him the 100m he wants.

kovavic was coming in whether gundo stayed or not so he isnt his direct replacement but could potentially do his role but i dont think hes the replacement.

All the reports have been generated by WH (Sullivan). Do you really imagine that journalists are briefed with ‘what we intend to do?’ Pep says lots of things which may or may not be true..

He’s not replacing anyone.

We were very lucky with Rodders this season, any injury to him and we wouldn’t have won the treble.

Rice allows us to rotate as it would seem pretty obvious Pep intends playing the formation of 3 central defenders with 2 midfielders in front of them.

Means Johnny Stones can play in the back 3 at times, or if we needed to rest Rodders then Stonesy can play alongside Rice etc etc.
 
im sure if he only wants to join arsenal then we would have heard that personal terms have been agreed and just trying to sort a fee out.

Has Rice come out with his Arsenal Pj’s yet? Only a matter of time before he declares them his boyhood team -:)

So you know Rice is plan A then? On the back of the most glorious 10 years in our history you question our methods and planning, seriously?

I rate Rice however even if as you say he goes to Arsenal I trust our owners to make the right decisions. To predict the future look into the past.

You make some reasonable points but nothing is decided about where Rice will play next season.

Also, he's free to choose his next club, no need for some posters to get defensive. We are likely to be strong anyway.
