Cricket Thread

Our bowling is so so predictable I can’t believe we have no fast bowlers around or fit or a top spinner! Don’t help when pope drops a dolly and root didn’t catch that hard one! The Aussies for me would of caught both of them!
 
The decision to bowl is only justified if you take 2-3 wickets by lunch. We've missed our chances, haven't bowled full enough and yet again are missing that extra pace and bounce that Wood could generate. Tongue has the extra pace to try and extract something from the pitch, but we've still got Broad, Anderson and Robinson who are similar bowlers. It's madness to not pick Woakes for one of them. Averages over 50 with the bat and under 15 (25 wickets) with the ball. Tongue, Woakes, Broad and Robinson would have been my picks.

Wickets change the game, but it already feels distinctly like our bowling attack is too weak for us to win this test unless we start bowling fuller and take some catches.

Goes with the job. Pull off (Oo-err) a stunning catch, and you're a hybrid of Captain America and Superman. Drop one, particularly one you really ought to be snaring, and you're a hybrid of Fred West and Harold Shipman. Black or white, no grey.

To be fair England have been very entertaining, and have over achieved in this “Bazball” era, but a bit more balance towards winning would be nice, for an FOC like me at least
 
Just come on this thread, can’t believe Lancs won get in, also heard England have put down a couple of chances, need to break this partnership asap

True, but there's something almost ghoulish about the way a cricket crowd dissects a drop. I don't think there's another sport where the pain can be so public and so prolonged.
 
4 right hand bowlers all similar paced offering the same sort of thing. Like playing against a bowling machine for Warner and khawaja. Really poor from England this morning.

Think the Edgbaston defeat has done some damage mentally. We just should not have lost that bloody test
