The irony of this series is that when they lose 5-0 it will kill Bazball and set test cricket back 10 years.
It won’t set test cricket back 10 years. There is a balance and the way we played pre Covid under root when we won in South Africa was the right way to play imo. This is just stupid brain dead cricket. It’s not entertaining it’s embarrassing

They’re only doing short stuff because it’s working.

If England scraped 2 brain cells together and just left the ball for 4 overs then the bowlers would have given up, it’s too tiring to do for an extended spell.
Perhaps. We'll never know if they would have persisted with it had Lyon continued. Still think the replacement rules are outdated.

England have certainly shown poor poor discipline. Can't see them turning this around.

Don’t disagree, but anyone watching this shit this morning wouldn’t really be able to tell that England are playing with any particular psychology or attitude.

The standards have just been appalling; poor shots, poor execution. Basic sloppiness and nobody seems to be that arsed about it either.

Precisely, the success of Bazball is predicated on actually batting well in the first place.

If you’re batting like shit it doesn’t matter if you’re swinging or blocking, you’re just playing shit cricket.

There was runs there for anybody who could show a bit of technical ability but the general standard was awful. Even the ones who racked up runs seemed to be getting by on luck rather than judgment.

It looks like tonight's money spinner will be rained off, which means Lancs qualify for the QFs, but a home QF is less likely now with rivals for 2nd likely to get a result.
