Glastonbury 2023

Sad that a crew member was found dead in his tent on Tuesday. RIP

Coldplay are just one of those bands people use as a punchline because it's "the thing" to do.

Anyone who knows anything about live music appreciates what an accomplished live act they are.
I wouldn’t go and watch them live as I don’t like the direction their music took (frankly, their songs are shit now), but I still listen to their first album.

People love them though and they do put a good show on for those people.

Not for them as a band though, they exploded even bigger from their 3rd album onwards. Albums hitting number 1 and World tours all sell outs.
Yep totally agree, watched em at Glastonbury few years ago when they had all them light wristbands and it was awesome, brilliant live. Just personally wouldn't buy the other albums.

Haven't read the whole thread so apologies if already asked and answered - Did anybody go and how hard was it to get tickets upon sale? Feel a bit old over 50 considering to go next year but it looked like most people had a really good laugh, my days were back in the 90s and the full moon parties in Goa etc but still have maybe one last gig in me :)

The last two words are key.

They realised that shit bland pop music sells to the masses so changed their direction towards that.

Apple Music knows, though. When you search for bands on there it has all their songs and albums but separate from the whole catalogue it suggests to you their ‘Essential Albums’, and for Coldplay it just has their first two albums listed in that bit.
