Any reason why the Aussie coach has a walkie-talkie in his hand? Those convict helmets need checking for ear pieces

I don’t agree but apparently the onus is on both sides to agree it’s dead (former umpire) which takes it out of the umpire’s hands…I’d compare it to the batting team running a cheeky single when the fielders are passing the ball round to get it back to the baller, and the batter simply saying I never agreed to a dead ball
I have never seen a batting team in test cricket try to run in that situation and I`m pretty sure the umpires would intervene and stop it, the game would become a farce. So not really comparable, I can see the argument that Bairstow walked out of his ground, he clearly did as he thought it was the end of the over, the umpire at the relevant end clearly thought it was end of the over as he is handing Green his cap, so I suppose the question is when is it the end of the over?

Me either….but I’d fuckin love it if we needed single figures and we at least gave it a try :)

I agree, but there are plenty examples of such decisions in cricket, and sometimes the captain is too caught up in the moment to make the decision that is right for the game as a whole. That is why the Third Umpire's role should be expanded.
Cummins and co were too caught up in cheating mode . The end !
