Random City Players

Ousmane Dabo.

I was only 12 or 13 at the time, but I watched that entire 06/07 season from the North Stand, convinced he never actually stepped foot on the pitch for us.

Looked at his Wikipedia page years later to discover he'd played 25 games. His entire contribution to the club had actually fallen out of my head.
He was awful. I don’t blame Barton for giving him a hiding.

Ian Scott. Came up from the Youth side same time as White,Redmond,Hinchcliffe, etc. Promising start under Machin, scored a few goals from centre mid , then dissappeared completely. Pity, looked quite decent the couple of times I saw him play .

Gary Buckley was another promising young mid , a couple of years earlier than Machin's time I think ; clever tricky player who looked pretty good, the dissappeared after 6 or 8 games. Might have ended up at Walsall I think.

Mike Quigley - seemed to be around for years without appearing too often.
Neil Heaney - cant remember which of our many managers of the era signed him up, but remember him being hyped as having pace to burn, didnt see too much evidence of it when he played.

I actually met up with Ian Scott last week in Tampa!
He fell out with Machin and Machin just fucked him around.
His final game was Brighton away in April 89 - a game which saw 7 of the Youth Cup winning team start the game

A few years and managers before Machin!
Buckley played in the 2nd Leg of the 1981 League Cup semi final at Liverpool.
He played as Tommy Hutchison (and Gow and MacDonald) were Cup tied.
He tore Phil Neal apart that night. We drew 1-1 on the night but had lost 1-0 in a controversial game at Maine Road

Terry Dunfield, watched the reserves a lot during the 2000/01 season in which Barton, Killen, Shuker and Leon Mike all played but Dunfield looked too good for this level and was no surprise he got a PL debut in final game of season at home to Chelsea ended up on loan at Bury before returning to his native Canada

I recall him being brought out onto the pitch as a 14 year old either before a game or at half time, I think with Franny Lee.

A few years back when living in Boston, I went to see New England Revolution v Montreal and he was playing for Montreal that day!
