PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

If I recall both city and eufa got to pick a panel member and the chairman either had to be agreed by both parties or was selected independently

Lets hope Murray Rosen has seen the YT video, given that he works for CAS, he surely would take a dim view of them doubting the integrity and neutrality of the panel.

I have offered to go on TS. Jim White has not taken up the offer yet

Well they don’t deal in facts do they?!

Maybe you need to come at it at a different angle and say I’ve found something really in Man City accounts that no one knows about and it will blow that Piers Morgan show out the water [emoji38][emoji23] it might just get the producer notice who is an Arsenal fan apparently

It is literally explained in the CAS judgment. It’s total nonsense. It is a trope

Of course it’s nonsense and I tried explaining why but it’s one of those easy but crazy rationalisations that fans are buying into because they simply don’t understand what happened and why.

So many rival fans were certain we were guilty so that the CAS verdict was a shock to them. It could only then be explained by incompetence of corruption.

What I find strange is that the selection of the chairman wasn’t even suggested as an issue immediately post CAS but has suddenly become a conspiracy theory now even espoused by the tubby fascist Tebas in the last couple of months.

My fav all time talksport bull, Darren Bent "City's squad is that good they can put out 3 world class teams" when i was at school that would be 33 players, how we could do that with a squad that never even gets to the 25 max under Pep only Darren would know.

Yes, City said we'd be happy with this particular guy as he was part of the previous process and knows the subject(?) and UEFA agreed that he'd be a good choice.

Of course that means that we did pick 2 of the 3 technically, which is enough for social media & the msm to roll out the "fact" as evidence of corruption. Actually thinking it through is unnecessary in their eyes.

We didn't pick 2 from 3. We suggested the chair from the list. UEFA had no objection IF the CAS Court Office went with him. The CAS Court Office then picked him. At no point did City have any power to pick or select the Chair.

Wrote something on Substack for anyone interested in the topic.
a great read that puts pretty much everything in perspective, it also sets out the burden of proof required to find City guilty of these egregious crimes.

A guilty verdict would basically be saying to multiple multinational organisations, multiple respected auditors, the sovereign state of Abu Dhabi and very high profile members of royalty, “you’re a bunch of liars and have been participants in a complex fraud for over a decade”. That’s what this independent commission will be doing if it finds City guilty. Good luck with that one!

one question, when we will hear the outcome from the High Court on City’s case with regards the validity of the EPL process and the Arsenal fan in charge of the IC and his perceived objectivity? i assume the IC can’t sit until the High Court have ruled ?

There's a finite list of approved arbitrators (about 60 I think) and a subset of those that were best qualified to adjudicate in our particular case (let's say 20). So the panel could only come from that 20-person pool. And two of those had already been picked, one by us and the other by UEFA.

The process was that someone had to suggest a name, with the other party having the right to veto that choice. Had UEFA vetoed our choice of Rui Botica Santos, and had both parties failed to agree on another choice, then CAS would have selected a chair.

Its like going out for a meal with your mates or wife.
You: "Do you fancy Indian, Italian or Chinese?"
Wife: "I fancy a Chinese."
You "I'm fine with that".

Then afterwards you complain that your arm was twisted, you didn't want Chinese and you'd rather have gone for a pizza.
Have you been following me and Mrs L again?

I doubt that story is even true

I feel like you mentioned it when it first broke, is/was all of this supposed to be done behind closed doors so to speak?

Will we actually get anymore official information on it now until it’s resolved?

I imagine we’ll have the usual leaks.
