Very depressing that a positive piece on a new venue gets this angle. The tribal red fans have got their way. Burnham was getting in the neck about investment by City's owners in new housing a few weeks ago but brushed it off. The amount of investment by middle eastern money is enormous. It goes into companies throughout the UK and is encouraged at a national level. London is awash with it and yet because it's associated with our football team, it is now standard to question it in our area as being morally ambiguous. If this investment is to be discouraged, then they need to be consistent. Ban them or something. Stop them sponsoring the FA cup and Arsenal. It's nonsense. Sheikh Mansour is regarded as part of the establishment. He made £3 billion on his deal in buying Barclays bank alone. Why bring it up in a minority investment into a music venue?
So they can continue with the drip, drip, drip of negativity. To tarnish our achievements and reputation. Clear and obvious. Burnham needs to call them out on it. Unfortunately, he’s a total fraud of a politician and hasn’t got the balls to do so. Just laugh it off. We have done the treble and it is completely and totally killing them. They are hurting so, so bad it’s unbelievable - and it shows. Every single day. This is the state we now have them in. Rejoice and drink it in!

Incredible that BBC North West would find a negative angle in such a positive story. What state would Manchester be in without the external investment it has brought in from Chinese and Middle Eastern companies in the past decade? We have had fuck all investment from the London government. The BBC reports every story it broadcasts through a Metropolitan elitist filter. Did they mention that US-based Silver Lake are the main investors in the new arena?
