Hmmmmm....from what I can see, since 1981 Lords has only hosted the first Ashes test once and that was in 2005

I'm with you, Lords is a nightmare for England. They create their own pitch and will not take instructions as to how we want it to play. They cheer champagne bottles popping rather than having pissed up people on the beer having a jolly. It's also the most famous ground in cricket so every overseas player wants to perform there which, with the pitch being unknown to us gives the away side the advantage.
You have to take the sport around the country, but I don't see why you need one in Hampshire as well as two in London which people in Hampshire could get to easy enough. But Lords is Lords and it will always host an ashes test. The oval is quality and much more rowdy.

Why play him as a batter? Thrown most of his wickets away this test series.
Every test series used to start at lords for while, and there was a poor run of results in the 2000s compared to other games. There was a conscious decision to stop doing it, why it hasn't happed since 2005.
Before that England it didn't matter did it for the ashes, as it was just dead rubbers that England won for more or less a generation over here.
If not a Lanky member you can join Blackpool CC for £25 if intending to go for more that one day including the 50 over game in August compared to £15 per day. Didn't look so good for this week though, worth looking at in future years as you get cheaper drinks (and more selection) in the pavilion too.Lancashire playing now

Good point but all the runs he got last season for England was when he wasn't keeping. He is the epitome of Baz ball.

I see it's not just the England blokes who can't catch. The women have spilled FIVE chances today in the ODI. And they were poor in the last T20 match the other night as well.

During those 5 innings he scored 10%( at the rime) of his test career runs , it was really hot streak , he's simply not on that streak now , for me there isn't a place for him, but I never expected they would change :(
