Heatwave Europe

Thankfully not going abroad for another 6 weeks, so fingers crossed its got time to cool down a bit.

In Tenerife at the moment and it's been very hot, over 30 degrees most of the time. Thankfully a nice breeze today so by opening a couple of doors I can cool the apartment down nicely. If I lived here I would definitely have to invest in some air conditioning for the summer.

Average temperature was hotter in the Cretaceous. No cars about then, no Industrial Revolution. dont hear many of the climate lot talking about it though. Must be time barred

Can you lot living in year round hot and warm year round climates just fuck off! Lol!

It's cold, windy, and wet in July in Manchester. I love Manchester, but the weather really is shit and depressing as a rule.
It is shit but I’d rather these temperatures than 40 degrees every day. Off to the Canaries soon but usually a bit cooler than the mainland in summer and usually a nice breeze in Lanzarote. We did Majorca last year and it was 35 degrees every day for 10 days and never dropped below 26 even at 3am. Way too hot for me. Thinking of staying in UK next year.

TBF, the temperatures aren't always that high or constant across the Med and Central Europe. But it is getting hotter and lasting longer.

All I want is a warm and dry Summer.(in Manchester) Instead it's fucking freezing for July, with rain, grey skies, and strong winds. It's July, the height of Summer, for fucks sake. :-(

Going zante again in 4 weeks, English owner of the villa we rent says 42c is predicted for next 10 days, but it’s 65% humidity at night so it’s still feeling like 37c at midnight!! hopefully it’s cooled down alot before we arrive

I think May and June are our summer now. July and August are usually crap. Maybe they should change the school holidays to June!

Wouldn’t bother me if I never saw a sunny day again! Fucking love the grim grey rain.

I've found the weather in last week or so to be perfect. Warm enough to wear shorts & t shirts but cool enough not to get too sweaty, with the added bonus of a little bit of moisture in the air to cool me down.
Why anyone would want to go to southern Europe or North Africa at this time of year is beyond me.

It's one of the main things I don't miss about Manc, the absolute nothingness of the seasons. Seems odd but it really makes a difference to your mood when they're discernably different. Proper summers and actual winters, tho the minus double digits takes some getting used to when it happens.
