It’s one of those things where I’d love to be transported forward in time to read what both historians and psychologists in particular write about it. Every facet of it is a case study.
 
Blurgh. What a wierd little story that is.

Social media has one redeming use - exposing abuse made possible by people exploiting social media.

This should happily start another round of people abusing that possibility, by dog piling, witch hunting, citing moral imperitives when we are pulled up for not exercising proper judgement. Generally making yet another entry in social media's ongoing demonstration of what hypocritical shites we all can be.

At the end of the day, the drama is always massively overcooked. The guy has acted ridiculously and abusively. Victims need hearing, clarity, and justice. What stake do any of us onlookers have in that? His career was over last week. The rest is just a show.

The way Byline Times posted this story just as he went on air was chef's kiss and difference in how this has been handled compared to the Sun and Huw Edwards is like night and day. Given the inexplicable clout this guy has and the machine he's had backing him, Byline Times has made sure this is as watertight as it gets from the looks of things.
