I remember being on the Piccadilly airport shuttle train and seeing mbappe before he signed for PSG. I asked him if he was signing for us, and he said he hadn’t got a clue what I was talking about. I’m sure he was trying to be coy, and meant he didnt know what the future held.

I absolutely guarantee, if you’re a City fan, that if MCFC announce he’s signed for us next week, you would be more excited about seeing us next season and get fully behind him. Don’t try and deny it - you just would.

Some players fill you with trepidation rather than excitement. Ronaldo had the same vibe about him.
Some players are better off at a club that suits their character. He needs to go to Madrid and play for them.
City is not the club for him, and we are not the fan base for him.

Often with these maligned characters, there’s more to them than meets the eye. You maybe right and he’s a completely dreadful human being, but, like ballotelli, be thankful he’s not marrying your daughter, and consider you MAY have him wrong.
But he is an exceptional footballer, of that there’s no doubt, and if Pep thinks he can manage him, I’d accept that and get behind him. if he then banged in a hattrick at the swamp, most here would do also. I can live with the one or two like you who wouldn’t.

Imagine a club going and buying him for 200m for then him to pull the same shit over and over again. He wants Madrid, everyone knows he wants Madrid. So why would anyone risk that level of investment.

Saudi is the only option that makes sense in that regard as the money is meaningless to them.
