So it's not sportswashing, it's diversifying their industries away from oil for the long term. So sounds sensible, and would tie in with other projects they're proposing to increase tourism etc.

Strange how the west made money from coal and slavery and can do what it wants, but places that made money from oil are not allowed to diversify. Actually, we made money from oil and Norway made shit loads (have a look at their sovereign wealth fund) but seem to be ok, so maybe the problem isn't really the oil...

Probably due to their religious beliefs, seems pretty clear from the players targeted the profile they are targeting! Makes sense with the religious practices in Saudi if they want them to settle/adapt etc

If this happens it’s a joke but I couldn’t care less. Don’t think the ramifications are as big as when Neymar went to PSG in the first place this is just Saudi being Saudi.

It does however bother me if they come in for Bernado. But as well all know if you get a huge fee and it’s plastered all over the news you then pay extra on top of any fee for a replacement. If this deal happens and they want Bernado it’s 100m easy.

Madrid sit tight for 2 years otherwise Mbappa loses so much money if he doesn't stay that long in Saudi
Madrid then pay Saudi team at least 150m in 2 years time & everyone is happy

PSG then go sign Bernardo, Kane & whoever else????
