She could have resigned and the governance of banks changed without the hullabaloo and the live rolling news and him banging the drum for the whole board to resign. And I bet he doesn’t stop there.
The state (we taxpayers) hold a c40% stake in the lender and the share price has dived and will probably dive some more.

I find that stories snowball through the media(including social media) because people/posters comment on them. Otherwise it wouldn't get very far.
