The result really doesn't matter and Atletico is a fucking tough nut to crack although I'd be lying if I said I'm not concerned about our lack of quality depth.

We're top heavy with defenders, I still think we need a creative midfielder

Perfect build up to next Sunday (although that is another gloryfied friendly). A defeat but no injuries and we had good chances prior to their first.

Slightly odd second half. Kovacic hung out to dry with no left back-rather irked me that he kept turning down a pass. Phillips has zero agility-time and time again he's unable to react and move his body. Cancelo spent the half chasing his balloon and being unable to defend.

Thought McAtee looked v sharp. Gomez also decent.

Time to come home and get ready.

I’m sorry, he seems like a lovely guy but Philips needs to go.
Very concerned about the creativity and goal threat we have lost in Gundo and Mahrez. Can’t see how we can replace that with what we currently have. Big few weeks ahead in the transfer market.
