Of course it's reported as being benevolently supportive of new artists. We love a popular spin for opportunism.

I don't think it's plausible to suggest that he did this to support a new artist.

It was made during lockdown, I think, and Dua Lipa had had at least one no. 1 and several top 10 singles beforehand. Her first album is cited with well over 700k sales - she's not new.
