Rumours that the sale is "paused", and the shares have dropped nearly 10%. Oh dear.

In fairness the rumours are clearly from the Ineos side and basically amount to ‘we haven’t heard anything for ages’, which isn’t surprising as they’re clearly not the preferred bidder.

Whilst it would be hilarious to think the Glazers had been playing 4D chess, pushing up the share price simply to restructure their other interests against their shares, the reality is that the accumulated consulting fees over the past 9 months are going to be exorbitant from Raine managing the process and someone like KPMG or Deloitte doing the DD with the bidders.

United simply cannot afford to pay these fees, they already burn through cash at a rapid rate and will be deep in their credit facility by now to fund the ongoing transfer spending, they simply don’t have funds laying around to pay the parties involved, plus the Glazers will want their dividends if they’re staying, which again United don’t have…buying down their other business debts to then take on a whack more debt at shit rates at United isn’t exactly smart even for the Glazers who don’t care about United…

The deal is clearly happening, there just trying to eke out a final bid from Qatar to get them up to their desired number.

Quiet a list (and without the latest cream of the crop) at no point do I recall any of the rag hordes complaining along the way, amd uet when the penny drops the latest "bestest in the world" is in fact another donkey somehow its the Glazers fault.

Clearly astute business men, to be able to take out millions in dividends whilst building up debt has to be admired surely. Long may it continue :-)

£208M for Maguire, Fred and Sancho ha ha ha ha ha, Southampton wouldn't have them on a free.

Have to be honest here, I haven't really been following the Hojlund transfer too closely. Just seen his stats for last season, though; 9 goals in 32 appearances, and 4 assists. 204 minutes per goal. £64m (potentially 72m) doesn't get you much these days, does it?
You need to get on board with the narrative that Rooney and Ronaldo had only scored a limited amount of goals before reaching the promised land. Although, this argument falls down when you compare the fees paid.

When you say potentially, what are the clauses in his contract to activate these payments?
Unless it's get top 10, in every interview must say manchester united and not to call them swamp donkeys I think we can be assured that extra 8 mill ain't being paid

Is that scumbag actually back for the rags this season?
It's nailed on he will be. He's a £50m+ asset, who could be a 20 goals a season player. To be honest, it would be the same at most, if not all big clubs, regardless of what they say. Us included. A few of their fans will call it out, but as soon as he starts scoring regularly, it will all be forgotten very quickly.

Not sure you’re right there mate. Ordinarily I’d agree, but that recording is fucking toxic and I can see it being hugely weaponised in some quarters if he starts playing for them again.

There was CCTV of Joey Barton stamping on someone's head, as they lay sparked out on the pavement. He also stubbed a lit cigar out in someone's eye.

The BBC put Barton on Question time as a guest.

Of the 40 on that list, I can only see about 4 that were actually any good and only about 2 that I would have wanted.
long may their scouting ineptitude continue.

I'm not sure the BBC should be held up as a bastion of virtue when it comes to the people it puts on our TV's and radio's.
