The only goal I have never cheered properly was Augero 9320. As the move built up it was like watching a film (like an out of body experience). When he scored I slumped down into my seat in a state of shock. I just watched the hysteria going on around me. It was a state of pure bliss. Almost spiritual. I didn't really start cheering till I was in the pub two hours later. This is what football does to you. And the person who wrote that hate-filled bile about our fans being "subdued" will never understand that feeling. Perhaps that's why he doesn't connect with his football-loving family (as he implied in the article).

Whilst we're still doing these, my first thought when the ball hit the net was "it'll be offside or something", desperately trying to see the linesman on the far side from us to see if his flag was up. Then realisation that we'd done it, and total hysteria set in - I just stood there laughing hysterically and realised that I just could not stop laughing. Don't think the enormity sunk in until the 44 years banner was played on the scoreboard...

CL - different as watched it on TV practically alone. But still can't begin to describe the feeling of winning the CL as anything other than fabulous.

I just listened to the football daily on Saudi. I thought it was fair & balanced which is fuck all like we’ve had for 15 years. Dan Roan asking questions whilst giving the answers, no innuendo & that Dipper fan from the athletic was nowhere near it with his snide comments.
Yep - overall thought was very good and, as you say, very balanced. The way it should be.
Particularly enjoyed the Saudi guy who was on for the duration. All intersting and very informative.

Simon “Salford” Stone once again showing his true colours:

Accuracy in front of goal has let Man Utd down - how can we fix that?

Yes. I noticed that journalistic mistake. Stuck out like a sore thumb

The MUEN is at it again by posting an article with the Ethihad pictured and saying about the impoverishment around the area whilst the swamp is surrounded by leafy lanes. Obviously clickbait for the masses.

Imagine if we’d been treated like that for the last 15 years. Dan Roan is certainly not Parkinson with his interview techniques, if it’s staged PR why the fuck not rehearse the answers rather than give them as part of the question.

All those shitbags having a go at Henderson & others & boom, folded for less.

Rodders knows where to come for a decent pint. Won't be long before he's stuffing a chip muffin down his neck - just as soon as he has saved up for a new pair of jeans.
I used to play football for a Norden pub, it was a long while back like.

I would have imaged he was probably in search of a chair I once sat in, a tankard I drank from or me old boots I left behind the bar in an Asda bag.

The Manchester divide that goes well beyond a football rivalry

"Children being born and brought up in the home of Manchester's triumphant Citizens face among the worst health prospects in the country - but children born in the Devils' backyard are 50 per cent less likely to grow up impoverished", according to so called `new`academic research as reported in today`s Manchester Evening News (MEN).

The MEN does not, however, provide any analysis or balanced commentary.

Public and private agencies have been trying to tackle inequality for as long as anyone can remember. This is not news despite the co-authors thinking that it is.

The reality is that it is pretentious, attention seeking academics once again who cast out a hook to justify their research in order to try and convince others that that they need more funding for their next research project. Once again, City is their hook.

Trafford is not Manchester. It is one of the wealthiest boroughs. It is a contrived comparison by the academics and undermines the serious matters. This appears to be as much about them and their profile as the real issues.

Perhaps they could do something useful such as working for City in the Community.

Football clubs are not responsible for public health, poverty and inequality however they can contribute to a range of measures by government, local authorities and other agencies, as well as developing their own initiatives.

City in the Community and the City Football Group are leaders. The report writers and MEN failed to grasp the opportunity to recognise this work in Manchester and beyond. Why?
