Deserves his own thread.

The lad was training with the first team yesterday,he has not long turned 17.

He's a unit......a very powerful and technically efficient defensive midfielder, who is clearly making the right impression with the coaching staff.Early to be making predictions.....but this kid looked a cut above last season,he has everything to be a huge success, and i eagerly look forward to his progression.

It’s not Dada-Mascoll in the first pic (well technically he’s in the pic, but in the background on the left)

Whenever I watched him last season he really stood out, not jut his size but composure on the ball, fair play, he’s only just 17 and training with the best defensive midfielder in the world, he’s getting great football education.

Good thread. He is a top, top prospect. In all of the academy, three players especially stood out, for me: Dada-Mascoll, Joel Ndala, and Oscar Bobb. Isiah (and Bobb) have an economy of movement, an awareness of team-mates, an ability to consistently find space, and the vision and patience to play simple, highly effective passes. Those levels of intelligence are unusual in players so young. In many ways, Dada-Mascoll reminds me of Rodri - it's his efficiency because of that ability to be consistently in the right place. He has a bright future, with a lot of hard work and patience ahead.

Agreed. Bobb, Ndala and Dada-Mascoll are the big ones for me as well. Got to keep an eye on Lakyle Samuel and Justin Oboavwoduo too. Samuel is someone that could do the Stones role in the future

Good call on Justin - his rate of improvement was really rapid last year.

Great to see. These young lads will all have seen Rico emerge last season and been encouraged they could follow suit. As much as the level we're at dictates we need a high quality squad, it would be lovely if we could keep developing academy players and for them to be a big part of our continued success. I'm not quite expecting Barcelona levels, but it was nice to see so many academy lads involved in our pre-season games, particularly as aside from Bobb they're English. Throw Walker, Stones, Phillips and Grealish in and plenty of English lads too.

It'll probably be all English lads from now on at the academy.
The likes of Bobb and Borges would no longer qualify to play for us.
Not sure if it will make any difference.

Top talent but to put some context on it and not overhype, most of academy U18 lads have trained with the first team in the past 12 months, including many not hyped on here. The club Regularly dip them in depending on position needed, if they are fresh legged and not played too many minutes that week for academy etc. good system where most get to experience first team sessions. You can often pick up an unfamiliar face from training pics and videos.

I imagine he would have made a good impression

He was the under 18 top scorer last year wasn't he? Seemed to have a really good head on his shoulders in the video we put out of all the teams top scorers watching eachothers goals. Normal haircut, no tattoos, eloquent and humble.

His goals weren't bad either! Erling, Carlos & Bunny all said one of his strikes was their favourite.

What is the new rule now? Cant see how Borges wouldn't be able to play for us?
