Lucas Paqueta investigated by FA for alleged betting breaches

I really like Paqueta and wanted us to get him from Lyon. Can't understand why we are talking about him at £70m and didn't look at Szoboszlai's release clause though! Paqueta's last season at Lyon is better to look from an attacking standpoint but Moyes definitely made him work defensively. Here's his stats last year against AM/Wingers (played 17 times in the league) and then against CMs (played 10 times in the league):

Ohhhh nice. Where is this data from?

All outside and from Brazil reports! until it's come from the usually reliable source local media I'd take it all with a pinch of salt!!

Phillips, most likely, as Kovacic, Stone and Lewis are much better.
Perhaps, though we cannot rule out the ‘Zinchenko effect’ of him sitting tight and fighting for his place/hoping the cards fall for him. It feels a tad odd that we could have signed Paqueta last season but chose to pass, yet this year we appear interested.

This will sound arrogant but his head will be turned now. He's got the chance to play for Pep and challenge for honours or stay for what looks like a tough fight for the Hammers. City should get their man if they really want him. If City think he's good enough then £70m is probably the going rate.

Steinberg is usually good for West Ham stuff tbh. At the very least, it wouldn't surprise me that we are after this sort of player - mainly an attacking mid but could be a RW like Bernardo.

In todays market it seems appropriate

He's also already won a trophy with West Ham

That he'll play mostly on the wing. Given Pep's comments last week and the fact that we're not linked with a single Mahrez replacement, I'd say that was likely anyway.
Lol. I’d say posters clamouring for him to play centrally should give it up. It will never happen under pep. It would be Kovacic and silva for LCM and KDB and Paqueta for RCM with Foden as primary RW.

What an absolutely rubbish buy this would be.

The guy was terrible last season and barring an assist in the conference league final, was turgid for West Ham.

He's materially worse than every midfielder we have bar Phillips.
Odd that a quick look on the West Ham forums shows me that they love him then...

I'm still of the opinion that he'll end up there but I think it will be after Kev leaves and when we've got better options already on the wings.

But who knows. He still demands the ball to feet way too much instead of looking to make space for others or thinking a few passes ahead.
