If it’s clear it’s a rumour and they’re not passing it off as fact which is what the post said then I guess that’s fine then. Sometimes it’s easier to read the original post then just go at people.

The original post does appear somewhat alarmist and cites two "reliable sources" as confirming the incident.
While clearly not confirming that it was true it gives a distinct hint that it might be. But at the end of the day what is a reliable source on social media?
