Saudi Arabia, probably, but you’re right. It’s a huge gamble and they’ll consistently need to sell players each year to keep up with the amortisation of these signings.

This is where the agents earn their corn,surely? If Chelsea feel Caicedo is worthy of a British transfer record fee, then his agent should be negotiating a salary to suit a player attached to such a fee? I'd imagine he's on fairly strong ground when it comes to these negotiations, given he's got two clubs fighting for his services.
