Can anyone give me a brief overview of this whole situation? I cant be bolloxed looking into it. Basically this guy and a player kissed in celebration?

Not quite.

This guy kissed a player after Spain's WC win, creating a rather obvious uncomfortable situation where she was NOT reciprocal, then after the event she stated as such, but rather than accept his wrongdoings, he and the Spanish FA doubled down, called HER a liar and that she consented to the kiss and then planned to sue her.

Instead we'll have to dispatch them back here they came from. I had momentarily forgotten how delicious it was ripping Madrid a new one at the Etihad

Nothing to do with that, absolutely the right call by Uefa. Utterly stupid request and further digging a hole by the Spanish FA.
