We did. Phillips is not remotely the same type of player as Paqueta or Nunes. Some were saying we'd have a better time buying from abroad. I tend to agree based on the shenanigans going on with Prem clubs when selling these days. I'm not sure I understand your point. We bought Phillips, that's indisputable. Are you saying that was the better move? Were there better options within the Prem than Haaland? Gvardiol? Just asking, not debating, because I'm not sure what your point is. At first I thought you were saying its better buying within the Prem. If that is what you meant, then yes, OK, I disagree. It depends on the specific player in question and our needs, not necessarily what league they play in. Not a big deal...

As an aside I'm still wondering why we didn't move for Tonali at the price he went for considering Newcastle were able to land him...

dippers are poor enough with Salah and I think he is on the way down.

Yeah, it’s not something I would pay for. ExWHUemployee is pretty much West Ham’s tolmie and I believe he gives updates behind a paywall (Patreon), or at least some of his updates anyway. But they then just get posted on forums, Twitter, Reddit etc.

A Hammer mate of mine, who makes his living in social media, reckons ExWHUemployee is pulling down good money, 10-15k/mo on Patreon. People signup for the ITK info, but stay subscribed for the interaction and insider details.
