Spurs Thread - 2023/24

Very early days yet to draw any conclusions. They’ll will miss Kane massively imo
They will if they don't buy a quick striker to help them with their new style of play. But one of the great things about football is that the team is always more important than any indivdual. It is also funny that West Ham look better without Declan Rice. Both Kane and Rice are great players of course but the team is what really matters.

Yep.

People getting over excited based on a tiny sample of matches. Over the course of a season Spurs are going to miss him massively. Declaring after 3 games that Spurs are better without him is pure nonsense.

Was worried Postecoglu might be good enough to cure Spurs of their spursyness, but then with a squad full of internationals used to playing 2x a week with Europe, he chose to completely throw this competition by picking a side full of reserves.

I may have mentioned how good big Ange was and will be. He will end up at City. Mark my words. As you know, I’m rarely wrong. Don’t talk to my Mrs about that though, she may have a different view.

It’s all to play for then. Who would you want to replace Pep when he goes? I think if he does well he will be in the frame. Time, like a grass, will tell.

To be honest I've not thought that far ahead yet, sends a shiver down my spine if I do,when the time comes, there will be a few names banded about that there is no doubt, but it's far too early to put any names in the frame yet as basically none are up to it,will be a big hurdle to negotiate but there is nobody whose managing on these shores at present anywhere near good enough to take up the reigns.

Now....if you'd had said he could rock up at the rags, then I think you'd be closer to the mark,in fact that could happen as early as next summer, when they bin ten bob,and your man Ange realises Spurs are a dead duck.

It is a terrible thought of Pep calling it a day with you. But, life goes on. The bottom line you need to come to terms with is whoever comes in will be a step down. Utd have never recovered from Fergie leaving so it could go that way too. I love big Ange, he has been playing the same way for nearly 20 years, he believes in it and so does anybody who have been lucky to have him. Football as we know can be the cruelest big mistresses, it could all go tits up for Ange, but I think he will get even better with the resources he now has. You just need to look at the difference in mood from Spurs fans. It was the same with us, he us a force of nature. Of all the managers out there right now, for me he is the guy I would want. He defends the club against snidey journos, he takes them to the fucking cleaners when they start their shit. I loved that so much. Anyway, hopefully Pep stays for years, replacing him is going to be mission fucking impossible, without the laughs.

Yea fair enough, you have experienced and love the guy and followed him closely,I ain't dismissing that one bit,and agree Spurs fans are getting giddy, even at this early stage AGAIN,they have form for that.

If he continues to take the journos to the cleaners down here, then I applaud him,but in fairness the scrutiny will be a lot bigger what he faces from these here than he would if Celtic had just drawn at say Inverness or Ross County, the expectation he will now face is huge compared.

But as you said earlier time will tell

Anyone want a giggle,go on you tube and listen to the rant by a spurs fan...its epic and piss funny...it was on last night's phone in around 22-40

According to Sty, Reguilon has been given permission to join the rags, and he’s travelling to Manchester for a medical.

Why?
