I’m 65 in January; when I was 50 I hoped for a cup final. Never did I imagine what we’ve witnessed. I was in Istanbul, but I got very emotional at the fan park. You see my younger brother died in 2008 (the night we beat WHU in the FA cup 1-0j. I’ve missed him and yearned for him everyday since. The only success he ever witnessed was Gillingham and a couple of promotions. When the song ‘Stop crying your heart out’ was being played and everybody joined in, I lost my composure and had to be comforted by my niece, his daughter.

I have no great recollection of the match, just the goal and the torture of the last 15 minutes as Inter decided to play. Five mins to go, I thought of my brother and begged him to make City win, if he could! He came through, just as he did for us in 2011, 2012 and even last season v Aston Villa. At the final whistle I of course was delighted, but too emotional to savour the enormity of what our magnificent club had achieved. I cried for my brother and thanked him for looking out for us again. I know it sounds ridiculous, but that was my experience. 5 weeks,later, I now feel we have reached the pinnacle, our destiny and I feel complete now. Thanks Tony. X

My only regret of the night is not staying in the ground longer after the game to soak it all in. My old man is autistic and it all got a bit too much for him, he was panicking about the journey back after the bus debacle and rushed for the exit before the players had done the full lap of honour. Hopefully we get the chance again but so grateful for witnessing it, I was a blubbering mess.

I couldn’t watch the build up on the night.

Been a really shit year personally, and I genuinely can say this is the first night where I’m going to switch off on my own and just get 5 minutes to myself. Or
In this case, 5 and half hours.

I have the patio open, junk food, some beers and a bottle of wine for pud.

I’m going for Rodri, around the 68 minute mark.

Good for you mate, I've not watched the build up to it either (2 hours I think) so watching the full FIVE hours, knowing the result will be beautiful :)
 
Gutted I missed this build up on the night. It is absolutely fucking brilliant. Oh to be a Blue.
(Just had the Haaland/camel **** bit)

We are fucking huge.
 
Lukaku blocking his own teammates shot. Very rarely those incidents happen when it comes to us and the Champions League.
 
I was in Istanbul. Recorded the full programme on BT Sport. Watched a thousand videos of the night but still not watched the full match. Definitely will one day but the way it’s going we may have won our 2nd CL by the time I find the time.

This was the moment for me. An amazing turn and run from our home grown hero, with the club since he was a nipper, and scoring the goal to seal our Champions League win.
That would have absolutely topped off the journey that began Oct 22 1979 with a true champagne moment.
And it would have stopped all those potential cardiac arrests in the last 15 minutes of the game (like a lot of finals we've had since 2011)
I work with a lot of cardiologists who tell me that marathon running is bad for you - well try following City for as long and as hard as we have!
I'll tell you what though I wouldn't swap one minute of my time as a blue.

This is worth a watch this afternoon for anyone who gets chance. I saw it yesterday and it's brilliant. The last 15mins of the programme shows some great behind the scene stuff. A city bodyguard talking to Pep and walks into a door, and the ref in his dressing room practising his technique for brandishing a yellow card.... oh and the serene, calm moment when Rodders stroked it home.
 
Believe it or not.
I booked a four night stay today in
Sultanhamet close to where i stayed for the cl final. oct 9th to 13 th,£340 per person incl flights
taking my mrs,one of the few places she doesn't need a visa for is Turkey.
