Because it's pornographic and shouldn't be in schools? If you watched the video and came away with the feeling that it's suitable for a school library then it says a lot about you.

29 districts in the US banned it and it's the second most banned book in US history where schools are concerned.

This page even says the book isn't suitable for children, simple concept really keep pornography out of schools and stop nonces from exploiting children, call me old fashioned but hey ho.

So you haven't read it, just posted a link to a seemingly anti-LGBTQ+ organisation's website, whose sole intention is the banning of books on the topic.


Hey High School kids! Are you struggling with your racial and sexual identity, well don't you dare read this memoir from an author describing his experiences of growing up as a gay black man, as it contains some graphic descriptions of sexual acts, because if you do the nonces will get you!

Just read the bible and go to church, you'll be safe from nonces there!

Who is this cabal of nonces pushing the book?

This is a novel, an author's memoir that contains descriptive content of some sexual acts. It's not a jazz mag, sat on a shelf next to The Gruffalo.

A quote from the author: "I am using my story to teach kids about the mistakes that I made the first time that I was having sex, so they don’t make those same mistakes. I am teaching kids about not feeling guilty when sexual abuse happens, and how to recognize sexual abuse...And how to fight back against those traumas that you can hold on to for so very long. So they’re leaving very, very important context out, intentionally of course, to try and say my book is pornographic.

You quote the author to validate the books existence in a school?

Add to that the strawman insertion of a church and bible and the wood appears through the trees.
