Nottingham Forest (H) | Sat 23rd Sept | PL | Post Match Thread

Referees can take advice from their assistants. This is why sometimes they change their minds on decisions.

I would never try to stop you believing what you believe. I’m merely pointing out that initial decisions can be changed.

I don’t get angry much at referees. The Chelsea game that you elided to was a rare exception.

I don’t think Taylor was corrupt today, or whatever synonym anyone wishes to choose.

He decided to employ a very high bar for physical fouls today. Forest benefited from that more than us.

Taylor didn’t make Rodri do what he did.
Players from both teams gave the referee serious decisions to make.

Rodri was an idiot and later Ederson almost did the same, in fact some referees may have sent him off.

easy enough win against a pub team followed by clueless small time no nothings who will fuck off as quickly as they appeared once they go down, seriously, where were you when you were shit, I would ask them, where were you, fucking ever, when they were winning European cups they only ever fetched a few hundred to Maine Road, in the lower leagues 15000 was the norm, deluded as fuck

Looked brilliant the first 30 minutes. Quick, precise passing which Forrest couldn’t handle.

They then turned physical to break up the game and tried to provoke our players.

Rodri should have handled himself better however in the heat of the moment we’ve all done stupid things. I do think the amount of games he has played could have impacted his decision making. Anyway Pep will have to find a solution for the upcoming games which I’m sure he will do.

Nightmare from Rodri, he’ll be bitterly disappointed with his behaviour. Will be a huge loss for the Arsenal game. Not a lot of positives out of the game other than a resolute defence. Less said about Philips the better. He’s dire and a championship level player.
What about the fantastic football we played in the first half. The two goals were things of beauty. Surely that's a positive.

You are right it was so easy that we just took our foot off the pedal and lost a bit of concentration, our first booking happened because of a sloppy pass by our captain.

Rodris right hand clearly went to his neck, wasnt Fodens. I am surprised we went so defensive though, I’ve seen us dominate possession with 10 men against better teams before. Mayb wanted to conserve energy for next games, not sure but thought was unusual compared to other times

Rodri's hands never left his shoulders - MGW dropped to the floor like a sack of spuds faking throat contact - a well known trick from p 41 of The Cheats Manual.

Let’s hope Kovacic is fit to replace Rodri.
Phillips did nothing for me to have any confidence in him (again!)

Why did Ederson lose it with Awoniyi ? Did he think he was trying to fake contact to win a penalty ? Just seemed something that flared up out of a nothing incident.
