After the sending off apart from one run from Phil just about nobody kept hold of or carried the ball. That was a whole team worry (i.e. that losing Rodri was like losing more than 1 player) and to lay it all at Phillips’ door is wrong. Some of you lot are like school bullies the way you need to single a player out, in fact many of you probably still are at school

Rodri received a push in the centre of his back that totally floored him, immediately prior to his sending off, Taylor completely ignored it. He also couldn't hide his sly smile as he showed Rodri the red card.

Whilst Rodri undeniably lost his cool and overreacted, it was partly because our players were frustrated at Taylor's failure to blow the whistle and protect them.

Is there any way the club can reasonably object to Taylor's appointment for future City games? He seems to subtly and consistently shaft us.

Taylor had lost control in the first half and from then on it was downhill.
He doesn’t give fouls when he should and waves play on when he should be stopping play for a foul.
If he blows for the foul on Rodri he isn’t sent off.
Entirely predictable.

Nightmare from Rodri, he’ll be bitterly disappointed with his behaviour. Will be a huge loss for the Arsenal game. Not a lot of positives out of the game other than a resolute defence. Less said about Philips the better. He’s dire and a championship level player.

Your comment about Phillips is 100% spot on. He had a couple of runs deep into their half. He lost control and made himself look amateurish. Sorry to say it (I know he wears a blue shirt), but what is he doing in one of the best squads in the world?

...and one of Gibbs-White's "pushes" in the corner come up over Rodri's shoulder and sort of connected with his head/right ear. Possibly felt a bit like a sly punch. Rodri then lost it.

On the subject of Morgan Gibbs White, he's from my current hometown of Stafford. At Stafford Leisure Centre on the roll of honour on the wall to celebrate "swimmer of the year' they've managed to shoehorn him in for a recent year showing Morgan Gibbs White (footballer).
Saying that, he's the only person of note from Stafford in recent years since Dave Gorman and the rave acts Altern-8 and Bizarre Inc!

As much as I don't think Philips is really of the standard to be playing for us, especially as a starter, I wouldn't judge him too much on yesterday because he was thrown into a game after a stupid red card and it was just about trying to see the game out under pressure and at a disadvantage

But it is likely a red card in today's game, Rodri should know that.

You can't go around putting your hands around your opponents neck in an aggressive manner in an altercation these days, you're just asking for trouble.

I saw ESPN analysis with that ex Goalie Shaka something he said we should go down to 10 men more often to make the game competitive. How Pathetic!
This will will help the team build on it and only come out stronger.

It's not pathetic. I hope we do play 10 or even 9 against 11 in training. We only went long from goal kicks yesterday because Eddie's kicks could reach Haaland well into the Forest half and he couldn't be offside. I'd have to check but I think he won the ball a couple of times even with two opponents near, and when he did lose it, the defence was already set up again. Losing it there was less risky than the alternative of possession football in our own half.

Video of the game is now on the website, including the sending off. Rodri was apparently red carded for grabbing Gibbs-White by the throat, but if you watch the footage it's clear that Foden actually made that contact, not Rodri. The rest was handbags and GW should be embarassed when he watches it back. So the sending off was ridiculous PLUS how can the VAR not see that when he watches it back ??11

The MOTD footage gives a completely different view and shows Rodri grabbing MGW by the throat, so can't have any complaints about the red card. Seems our web team were somewhat selective in their initial version of events haha.

When these people have kids, and assuming they have reproduced with another double barreller, are the poor brats going to have quadruple-barrelled surnames?
