Established England international Kalvin Phillips you mean? He certainly hasn’t done well at City, hasn’t worked for him, yet at least, but some of you lot need to give the lad a break, fucking hell. He played well for England in Scotland, and he did ok when he came on yesterday. It’s really poor the shit he’s getting, any mistake highlighted, anything good ignored. There’s always been scapegoats (Crossan, Power, Edgehill, Mahrez, Phillips etc) and it’s always been pathetic.
Not having a pop at Kalvin just an observation

At least Rodri should start at Newcastle now.
All this nonsense about the arsenal game .
Worry about the Wolves game first.

I thought Phillips was fine yesterday, although he has clearly become the target for those who need a target, especially after the departure of Sterling and Mahrez
Not looking for any targets or scapegoats….just saying the lad’s been here for quite a while now and injury or not had plenty of opportunity to show something at some stage which he just hasn’t.
I would love him to prove me wrong as I will always support anyone pulling on our shirt but I continue to fear he’s just not up to the job.

Re the perceived support or lack of for Phillips.

He got a good reception when he came on yesterday and at no point did I hear anything negative from the crowd if he made a mistake (at least no different to any other player who made one). The crowd aren't on his back so trying to equate that to comments on a forum is ridiculous.

FWIW, I thought he did some good things but also had periods where the game was totally passing him by. You can't make much of a judgement based on his part of the match yesterday as we were a man down and were playing a completely different way to how we normally do.

Phillips looked better as the game went on but his awareness of what is happening around him and first touch seems very poor. I hope I am wrong but he looks a dud.

But do refs apply the same 'timewasting' criteria across all teams. We've seen goalie after goalie at The Etihad taking the piss from the first goal kick, and 87mins later he gets booked for serial timewasting. The crowd howl in protest after the second thirty second goal kick and the ref, with his back to the play does fuck all. And what time was it when Eddie got booked for slowing down his goal kick? Long before the 87th minute.
Refs seem to believe time wasting only applies when a team is winning by a single goal and there are fewer than ten minutes remaining. Eddie gets booked when we're a goal ahead but other keepers waste far more time to keep the game at 0-0 and break our rhythm.
The new extended stoppage time rules might reduce time wasting to a degree, but I still believe yellow cards will be restricted to the winning team; which is usually us.
And to answer your earlier point: No, refs do not apply the same time-wasting criteria across all teams. I can't believe any would have the balls to card a Liverpool keeper for wasting time.

If that little **** hadnt cheated and gone down like he’d been hit with an 84, it would have been dismissed as handbags and not a lot else…
I detest players who do this throwing themselves to the floor shit…. !
It’s cheating in plain in sight

easy enough win against a pub team followed by clueless small time no nothings who will fuck off as quickly as they appeared once they go down, seriously, where were you when you were shit, I would ask them, where were you, fucking ever, when they were winning European cups they only ever fetched a few hundred to Maine Road, in the lower leagues 15000 was the norm, deluded as fuck
Our average gate in the third tier was just over 28,200.
When they were promoted last season, they averaged just over 29,100 so around 900 more for watching some of the best players in the world rather than Wycombe, York etc.
Prior to that the last time they averaged more than the 28,200 we did in the third tier was 1980/81 season at a time they were back to back European Champions and boasted top international players like Francis and Shilton.

Rodri was stupid and was probably trying too hard to redeem himself for losing the ball in the first place.

However there were a couple of Forest fouls in the First Half (particularly the one on Doku that resulted in Alvarez's 2nd Free Kick) that Taylor didn't deem worthy of a Yellow Card, presumably because he'd already cautioned 2-3 and was starting to lose control.

I've seen this before with other referees. Dish out a few yellow cards and then ignore something that's far more blatant.

Against sweaties?
Not a good barometer…..
as the saying goes - you can only play what's in front of you .... he hasn't let anyone down. He needs a proper chance. You don't go from being a starter for the england team and a respected defender to being a flop

Hope there's some Karma - he deserves the hate of the football family

Gvardiol went down clutching his head at one stage. There was no contact anywhere near his head.
Cancelo use to do something similar.
Don't like this form of cheating by any player, ours or the opposition.
Cannot understand why diving and pretending to be injured are still not taken seriously by the officials and administrators.
