Seems a bit unnecessary insisting you buy third place play off and final to be sure to watch the second game.

Surely there could be a way of all four semi finalists having an either/ or ticket allocation?

Having said that, absolutely amazed at the prices.

What do you reckon 1k max ?
Chelsea got 2k, so would expect that in a big stadium minimum with the UAE interest.

I think they will be fairly generous and not have specific sections and just sell any that Leon and Auckland don't take to other clubs or general public. There is no guarantee all fans of one team will be together based on previous years.

Think they're assuming people will go to all the games. Not a lot else to do

Seems odd that they waived the VISA requirements for people at the Qatar world cup wanting to visit but aren't doing it for this.

I'll be waiting until nearer the time in case they change their mind.
Erm - it is two different countries.

The visa will be a formality as there is a clear reason for entry.

Just the 5 grand getting there and back.
I know that's a joke, but the USA one will be at least double that won't it? About 8 flights and accommodation for the month, and GBP purchasing power over there near an all time low. This will be the last affordable one, with future ones likely to be spread out geographically also, looking at the 2030 real world cup bids including 3 and 4 countries each.

By "they" I meant Saudi Arabia. They waived the VISA requirements for people with tickets to the Qatar world cup. Only an hour from Doha to the border and some people stayed in Saudi Arabia and travelled in.
They waived the entry requirements to people with a Hayya card (that was necessary to get into Qatar).
The Hayya card didn’t go with the World Cup ticket, but you could assume you got one one once you got a ticket (assuming you were not on in Interpol list). ( I went).

My assumption is that, if you have a ticket and you mention on the visa application you are going to the CWC, there will be no issue. They are not daft. They are not hosting a tournament for people from every continent with an intention of not letting them in.

I suspect the reason is that the world cup saw fans from 32 countries travelling to watch the biggest tournament in world football over 5 weeks where 64 matches were played.
This competition involves fans from 7 teams over 10 days where 7 matches are played.
I would think that from an administrative point of view alone suspending visa requirements for the world cup was a good idea.
They have plenty of other sporting events that they don't suspend visa's for including the F1. I suspect you should compare this events to those that are more comparable by scale.

Copa Libatadores semi finals (first leg) start on Thursday with the winning team taking the final place in the WCC.

Watch out for Palmerias. They are the best team outside Europe and the only team on the other side of the draw that should beat Al Ittihad.

Not sure whether I want them to qualify or not as we are on the easier side of the draw and would only meet either team in the final.
I’d prefer to play Palmeiras in Final than Al Itihad

No fear of being accepted for a VISA, it was more the VISA fee I wanted to avoid.

I think it's only £30 though for an Electronic VISA waiver (EVW) after some investigation, whereas I had previously thought it was about £140 so not as bad.

Would be good to play Boca Juniors

I'd like to see us against Fluminense. Their manager (who is also Brazil national team manager) plays a style which is a complete contrast to Pep. Still attacking but is against such strict positional/controlled play (i.e. Pep makes our players stay in certain grids on the pitch, whereas they kind of swarm irrationally). Think it would be interesting to see the styles against each other.

Have tonight requested the access code.

Will see how it all pans out once the code arrives at some point in October.

If I'm not mistaken - at the behest of the Brazilian national federation, I think Deniz who already has two jobs is about to become Flamengo manager as well for the rest of the year. So he will simultaneously be the Brazil national team manager, the Fluminense manager, and the Flamengo manager. Do not understand this situation at all.

Sounds like he will have to toss a coin for the game where they are due to play each other to see who he manages.

Would be like Pep remaining as our manager but becoming caretaker England manager for a year and after the first leg of the Champions League semi final, the FA asking him to manage United for a few months too.

Bizarre.
