Worst performance in a while from Ake today. Surprised Pep hasn’t given him a go as holding midfielder as he’s played that position before.

What’s happened to him? Is he carrying a knock and playing through it? Or has an injury affected his pace? Either way today was an off-day.

Ake is a cracking defender so cut that nonsense, today he was up against pace and struggled......thats it.Pep should have hooked him at HT.
He has been a fantastic defender for us. I didn’t see the match but it seems he couldn’t cope today with the attacker‘s pace, if that’s the case, don’t you think the coaches of this team should have given him some back up and done something about it? I’m pretty damn sure most would.

Corrrect he wasnt suddenly going to become a speedball just because he was up against a pacy winger.

Yes,thats basically what i said.

Well you're definitely in the minority on that one. He was nominated for our player of the season award alongside Haaland and KDB.
And thoroughly deserved, just because he had a bad game doesn’t mean he deserves a slating, far from it, he should have been given back up on the pitch instead of having to tough it out.

It wasn't deserved, given how good Rodri was. It was a bit of a joke, given also the performances of Stones and Bernardo.

Ake's an excellent squad player. No less and no more.

Did what he could. Was left exposed against a very dangerous player, can't do anything when the player is faster than you. Don't lay any blame on Ake at all, tactics set him up to fail, 2 sitting midfielders gives him the cover and helps cut out the supply.

After two years of brilliant performances, I’ll let this one slide.

There’s also not much you can do when the players ahead of you are giving the ball away and not trying to run back and leaving you isolated against a player who’s miles faster than you.
