Terrifying for villagers. Reports of villagers locking themselves in safe rooms with militants laying siege to their houses.

The scale of the violence will probably result in Israel recalling special forces units from around the region immediately.

It depends if some of them want to live. If the hostages aren’t returned that will be the end of Hamas. Not necessarily overnight but the Israelis will never let this go.

The deaths on the Palestinian side will be huge, the Hamas leaders don't mind throwing their own people under the bus as collateral damage to make Israel look heavy handed.

If these warmongers want war on any side their leaders should be forced to fight too.
 
The hostages are only useful for prison exchanges or human shields. So they are likely to be well treated.

Wouldn't put it past Israel to kill their own to prevent their capture and the political humiliation of having to let hundreds of Palestinian militants go free again. As they've reportedly done in the past.
