But the Reds also produced an expected goal total of 2.6 which included six Opta-defined clear-cut chances. Per FBRef, there have only been seven instances of an away side generating more of the former in the Premier League this season, while the latter has been topped just thrice.
Why dropping two points at relegation favourites Luton is good for Liverpool

It seems to have become a Scouse media thing over the past few years that anything they do needs to be linked to City, so they've got a seat at the table of relevancy.

Nunez > Tried to drum up a fake rivalry with Haaland. Whatever the above means and this record that gives Klopp "a key advantage over Pep Guardiola". Not to mention the league tiles we've "shared".

I normally don't have any respect for the Guardian football weekly podcast; the phrase "I wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire" springs to mind. But I thought I'd listen to hear them bigging up Arteta and Arsenal for making a stand against VAR. I was pleasantly surprised, therefore, to hear them being very unsympathetic towards both Arteta and the club.

No mention on the BBC sports news today of the CL holders playing tonight but found time to talk forever about spursy/Chelsea before showing not much of the game and a chunk on Rooney with even more on the dips followed by laughing about the cricket dismissal..... surely the latter is a safety issue and they should be pushing how unjust it was?
The sports news section on this morning's Today programme didn't even mention that City were playing tonight (they are aren't they?). Discussed last night's match (understandable) but then discussion on Celtic and Newcastle games. Didn't even mention ours was being played. Their job is to inform people of what is going on!

There are commentators, most of 'em, who are clearly aligned to the fortunes of one or two clubs, and then there are the tiny minority who are enraptured at the football that's played regardless of shirt colour.

To be fair, Guy is a York City fan, so watching any other team is enlightening!

Given that it's hosted by a Spurs fan, and a man who likes nothing more than complaining about people who complain, it's not that much of a surprise ;)

Not sure where to put this, but I was just on Twitter/X and there is a thread about us going top unnoticed (top scorers(best defence) and PL being a one horse league. Obviously half the replies were salty, but they were all owned by a a blue (presumably,) called Quentin Reece, who said :-

If you want to cry/moan about Manchester City then go for it.
But the truth is that we only directly affect 2 league games a season for your club.

All the other remaining 36 games is your doing directly. We can't be your excuse for them.

It's such a great putdown.

Fucking hell. What planet are they on ?

Isn't Rushden a Cambridge fan? As for Glendenning; we'll, you know what these Irish are like.

;-)
" I’ve wrestled with what my love of Spurs actually means, how it fits with my love of Cambridge United, and why I’m a football fan at all. ... My stock line is that I’m a Cambridge fan, but Spurs are “my big team who win things” "

I think it's a genuine parent's team/where you grew up split loyalty.

So, it was nearly the 8th best away performance of the season. And against Luton too!

If they want to compare themselves to City's xG/xGA, we've only done better than they did yesterday in 4 of our 6 away games. We also won them with real points too.
