Yeah, I think we may have to, but I hope not. We don’t often do that well away at liverpool so beating them at home is a must for me.
If we can turn in winning displays in those first two games it will set us up so well won’t it?

Yeah if we win both we might break some of the opposition.
 
International break will undoubtedly have a big say on who starts but i wouldnt be making too many changes to the 11 that started today just not in that shite formation pep had us in.

Id bring kovacic in for alvarez. Push bernardo to the right but have him narrow coming inside to help dominate then foden in the alvarez role with a bit more freedom to knit things together. If either stones or ake are fit I'm bringing them in for Dias at the back.

Doku up against TAA is the potential mismatch of the century, he will skin him alive, how are people omitting him from their lineups?

Whether we like it or not. Reece James is one of the finest full backs in the league today. It’s not like he was limping - he was fit even though he just came back from injury.

This is not excusing the fact that Doku had a game to forget and I’d rather start Grealish for control against Liverpool. Moreover Klopp wouldn’t just leave TAA helpless against Doku.
 
The score might be anything between 5:1 and 3:3. We'll create plenty of chances, but might concede more chances than we normally do. Walker and Dias are off form, Stones and Ake are injured and the formation with Alvarez is a bit too adventurous at times. Will be a cracking game.

Please tell me you haven't just compared James who is one of the best fullbacks in the game to TAA.

James didn't exactly shut down doku either, our inability to get him the ball in the right areas was what rendered doku largely ineffective for most of the game.

This is the same weird comments you get from rival fans when they claim x defender pocketed haaland when the reality is we failed to present him with a single chance all game.
 
The Dippers will look at the Chelsea game and will be hopefull but we will never play as bad defensively again , Pep has a couple of weeks to sort it out , Walker , Stones , Gvardiol , Ake as a back four would be a good start , with Rodri playing deeper and Stones stepping out to partner him in the middle of the park , we have to stop a team running through our midfield like Chelsea did.
 
Simply cannot afford anything but a win. No way can we let these inferior set of cunts get a sniff of the title or any opportunity to gloat at our expense. They already have the full backing of the media and PGMOL/Var to do what they want, so we can’t defend like we did today, that’s unacceptable.
