Racists never think they are racist.

They think a racist is someone who beats up a black person.

If they don't do that then they're not a racist.

They also still cling on to the idea that abuse to a Jewish person or a Muslim person can't be racist.

Like killing innocents, it’s OK because there may be somebody we don’t like behind them?

Let‘s get away from the bullshit, innocent people are being killed and there’s no getting away from the people who are doing it.

Nobody, but nobody, can rationalise that away.

through the 70s played football against black lads some sound some not so who clearly didn’t like whites was 5hat racism or just life ? We Just got on with it
 
Aww, we just talk every political utterance or insult up, until it's a scandal. These are your fundamental rights! You are not expected to agree all the time.

There's no hope for this gen, I'm pretty sure, they lost it a while back. Next lot might expect to revise what a scapegoat or straw man is, how you do it naturally, like you always said you wouldn't, and most of all what a picture really tells you, what a person is (a living, complicated, changing thing) and how little you actually know about anyone.

Yeah but, I’ve met and know loads of Muslims. They’re all great. No idea why anyone would think there’s a problem with them. They assimilate really well.

Nowhere does it say that you can't criticise Israel for its actions. But it does set out examples of what is regarded as antisemitic, which includes denying Jews the right to self-determination, comparing Israel to the Nazis and requiring it of a behaviour not expected of any other democratic nation.

One of those protestors had a poster of a Star of David with a swastika inside it. Thats antisemitic. There were other instances of antisemitic behaviour.

Jews coming out of a Sabbath morning service at a synagogue in St John's Wood were harassed by some of these protestors making their way to the march. There's a Chinese takeaway in Prestwich that threw some Jewish customers out screaming "We don't serve Jews". A pizza restaurant in Leeds has said "Zionists not welcome here". But will either get prosecuted? Probably not. There's been a huge increase in antisemitism in the UK in the last few weeks. I don't disclose my religion at work, having been discriminated against once simply for being born Mewish. You have no fucking idea what it's like to live in fear.

We all know that this new definition is bullshit and we knew it at the time. Germany uk and USA couldn't wait to adopt this definition

While I agree with the last sentence, I don't think "the world" can get us to any permanent peace without understanding the history, which is complicated but not "arcane".

For example, "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free" is obviously problematic, especially if linked to the 1988 Hamas charter, but so is Likud's 1977 manifesto (against giving up the West Bank): "The right of the Jewish people to the Land of Israel is eternal, and is an integral part of its right to security and peace. Judea and Samaria shall therefore not be relinquished to foreign rule; between the sea and Jordan river there will be Jewish sovereignty alone".
