I'm happy there's the international break this time though as it gives Stones and Ake time to recover and Pep time to stew on today's performance, especially defensively, and regroup.

Tough game and if this game was at Anfield I would n't be confident but at fortress Etihad we are imperious. On saying that if we concede the same amount of space in midfield to the Dippers we could be in trouble. Thus I would be tempted to play Kovacic in midfield alongside Rodri to make us more solid.

So everyone keeps saying but after yesterday we have the best defence in the league ;)

Whether that holds or not, there is no doubting VVD has improved dramatically this season. He’s not too far from his best.

Maybe surprising but I feel far more confident versus them than I was Chelsea. I thought from a matchup standpoint, Chelsea's athleticism and legs in their midfield would cause us problems, which they did. Liverpool don't really have that.

I wanted Grealish to start versus Chelsea but I'd honestly go right back to Doku. Trent isn't half the defender Reese is.

Im sorry for Alvarez , but he should start this match from the bench. Especially after int. break.

We need more legs in the middle , and like Kovačić or Nunes would fit better for this match.

IF Stones are here with us , then there is no problem with Alvarez starting , but w/o him , Rodri is alone in the mid ,and thats terrible for the team

Anyway, regards liverpool we need to be so much tighter at the back otherwise Salah, Diaz and co will have a field day. I think we'll have plenty opportunities to score ourselves but i cant be arsed with another basketball style match vs them lot.
