They’re not just going to randomly storm a hospital for a laugh. This isn't Russia we're talking about.

If terrorists weren't using a fucking HOSPITAL as a shield then the army wouldn't have to go anywhere near it.

This is exactly the sort of behaviour why Hamas need to be exterminated.

Do you think Hamas are operating inside the hospital or in tunnels beneath it?

I suppose the Israelis absolutely HAVE to present evidence of significant operational connections between the hospital and the tunnels underneath (I am assuming there are tunnels underneath, because that is what I would do) so prepare for lots of "evidence" after this raid and use a critical eye. Let's see if the evidence is more compelling than at Rantisi which, quite frankly, was a joke. If they don't have anything conclusive after this one, they will be in trouble, and so will the US.

Good points about the hospitals. I think the Americans with try to corroborate whatever the Israelis say.

The chances are that there will be a Hamas office / store room under the hospital that had no impact on the running of the hospital and the majority of clinicians and patients would have been unaware of.

What Israel is doing to Al-Shifa hospital has loose similarities with the Russians bombing the Children’s Theatre in Mariupol. We didn’t hesitate to condemn that atrocity. If the Ukrainian Army had had a room in the basement of the Theatre, it wouldn’t have made any difference to my reaction.

The hospital was Israeli built wasn't it? When they physically occupied Gaza? If that is right, I can imagine it was built with secure facilities underground. If I were Hamas, I would have absolutely made use of those facilities and connected them to the tunnel system for access. Even if they weren't there at the beginning, it makes perfect sense for Hamas to create them. I would, if I was them. I would also have spent the last few weeks removing everything controversial, blocking permanently any connections to the hospital and, maybe, leaving some communications that could be picked up by the Israelis, inviting them in for a major PR disaster. Surely, Hamas aren't hiding in there waiting for the inevitable Israeli clean-up, or leaving weapons in there, or operational command equipment? Are they that stupid?

Well Israel is THE strategic base for the USA in the region, there is no altruism see also Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Ukraine. Israel is the take off point for the USA to control the region and has been since 1967 and more so since the Iranian revolution in 1979 when their ally the Shah was deposed. It's all about self interest see also the laughable 'special relationship' with this country, they were only interested in us because we WERE useful to them, things have changed and they don't give a shit about us now.

I was thinking that Hamas would be long gone too, if they were ever there. I know it’s fiction but the action drama series on Israeli special forces, “Fauda”, would have had ex Mossad, Shin bet advisors etc.

In “Fauda”, Hamas uses part of the basement of a Gaza hospital for commanders to meet in privacy. I’m not saying that’s how it is in real life but it would make sense to have tunnels for emergency evacuation and access, if Hamas used the hospital basement.

I expect the Israelis would have had to approve the original design of the hospital and / or built it like you say, but I just don’t know.

Ideally, Israel would eliminate all the
Military leadership of Hamas but I doubt very much it’s going to happen at Al-Shifa hospital. Time will tell.

Well as they have/had an above ground headquarters NEXT DOOR to the hospital then probably - though how you tell the difference without a comprehensuve video tour will be interesting.

Oh. It wasn't supposed to be a yes/no answer, more a question of if you think Hamas have been operating inside the hospital in the last week or so. Or solely beneath it?

Probably - using the hospital as a shield - but I'm yet to be convinced. It would be a PR disaster on a huge scale for Hamas if proven (and their leaders are fairly bright).

Very good points
The Israelis would be wise to take note of this.
They have no friends, only interests as the Ukrainians are about to find out soon and the Taiwanese will find out in the future.
The Americans are your friends only while they can manipulate you to fight their geostrategic battles.
 
Interesting talking to a Jewish lad I know,talking about bombing of innocent kids and he’s saying Israel would never do anything like that the whole of the Israeli people would condone it straight away! I obviously pointed out how wrong he was to say such a misguided statement but like usual I was greeted with various mentions of the holocaust and numerous mentions of anti semitism,this comes from someone who is openly racist against what he so affectionately calls ‘P—ki bastards
I have grown up in a Jewish area,went to school with many many Jews,done business with them and I can hand on heart say they are a very racist race of people but the first to call out any they encounter against themselves! Sorry but it’s my experience and my opinion! I’m neither anti semitic or racist I’m in the side of peace and innocent children
