PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

You guys have no idea how bad it is in Ireland for anti--City bias, Sweeney is particularly bitter, but we unfortunately have Delooney as well, not to mention the TV commentators. The media here is infested with Liverpool fans, parading as independent journalists, they wouldn't look out of place on the Liverpool Echo or RAWK, but incredibly Sweeney writes for the biggest selling daily and Sunday newspaper.

I'm glad someone is finally highlighting Sweeney, he actually wrote this in the sports pages of a national newspaper; "It is Liverpool who have become, as that Barcelona motto says, more than a club....These days the major clubs increasingly resemble major US sporting franchises. Yet there is still something different about Liverpool, a club for which tragedy and triumph will be intermingled for as long as the game is played. Liverpool remind us of the time when the football produced by a club seemed like a reflection of the character of the community it represented."

Yes he’s right….. tragedy certainly follows them as Colin Mafham eloquently wrote.

Lol. The irony is that liverpool, as part of FSG are the closest thing we have to a US sporting franchise in the Premier League.

Typical scouse fan, if the facts or history don't suit the narrative, simply change the facts or history.

still waiting for PL to confirm the deep investigation into Chelsea affairs of what they "self-reported" to Uefa and got a quick 10m euros punishment.
highly doubt same issues would not be breaching bunch of PL rules historically.

that before any of these new stuff from the Cyprus leak with Abra and off book payments etc.

having said that not sure how Chelsea able to meet current FFP rules with their recent spending of a billion pounds almost. with CL revenue this season and they are in a huge fight to even be back in CL next season.
and I guess they will continue to spend big in January again and then next summer again.
long term contracts may help a bit but no success on the pitch and heavily underperforming like last year surely has to put them under huge FFP risk.
As far as i know, clubs are able to pretty much spend what they want for the first 3 years of new ownership

He is right about Liverpool football club being a reflection of the community it represents. Specially if he is referencing how their fans push walls over Italian football supporters then blame decaying stadiums, Chelsea supporters etc. How when they go on Euro trips individuals drop paving slabs on Bulgarian waiter’s heads. How they smash up rivals team buses on Champions League night without a single arrest. More recently throwing cups full of coins onto some innocent bystander who could have been killed but then start crying why they have to play a half 12 kick off on a Saturday as a result of it. When rival supporters remind them of this they go hiding behind tragedy chanting and start talking about their mental health. Yes he is right Liverpool certainly do represent and reflect the vermin who follow them.

Stands, claps and hoots "bravo"

Obviously no-one on here knows what the timeframe might be but that to me makes no sense whatsoever and it certainly wouldn't be in our interests for it to drag on for so long.

The headline figure of 115 charges seemingly consists of a relative handful of actual potential offences (Mancini's contract and a few others) and is padded out by them being repeated for different years plus multiple non co-operation charges. I can't see how that it would take years for an independent panel firstly to decide if the PL has any meaningful evidence or not for each basic charge. Any that they decide that they don't are dismissed and any they think they do then the club would put forward their counter arguments and they reach a conclusion on them. My hope is that it is concluded before the start of next season.
I think we all hope it’s sorted out as soon as possible.

It doesn’t mean it will be though. It could well be years, without any update until it’s finalised.

The only good thing is that it sounds like Pep wants to be here when we’re exonerated.

If that is true, I’m happy for the decision to be in 2060.

I suppose you could look at it another way. An Evil Fairy cast a spell on sweet, pure Liverpool FC. As a result, tragedy and hooliganism go with them wherever they go, like fleas on a dog. But it's not their fault. All the bad stuff is done by evil gnomes, who happen to be invisible but have been wrongly identified as Chelsea fans in the past.

I think we should all allow that this is a genuine possibility.

Exactly. The pitiful montage of headlines by that stupid Sweeney fella exemplifies it. The majority of those stupid headlines have subsequently be proven wrong. Wrong, wrong and wrong again. And stupid. How many times must he get things wrong before he realises how stupid he looks. The stupid ****.

In his own prepubescent world he thinks he’s right.

Swoon

Paddy Power are getting boring now. Pretending that the case has disappeared or that PL have swept it under the carpet. It's been handed over to an independent organisation hasn't it? So simply a matter of defending ourselves. Saw a tweet a few months back suggesting we've started tearing them new one already however this eatly into a case means nothing. Charges for non-cooperation seen inevitable however I'd love to see us take those that pressed for this to go forward to account

I read an article recently by a Harvard psychologist, Courtney Warren, which explained 'Gaslighters' and 9 typical behaviours via which they express themselves, especially to their intended/actual victims.

Explaining how 'Gaslighters' communicate with their intended/actual victims using phrases such as "You made me do it" as a defence mechanism in their favour, Dr Warren states:

"When something doesn't go as they had planned, gaslighters will often try to avoid taking responsibility by shifting any criticism and blame onto you."

Now, that reminds me..
