International Matches | 15th - 22nd November 2023

Some fair points but I’m more than happy watching England win even if it isn’t blistering amazing football, already mentioned we was slow in patches and wasted some opportunities going forward.

But we was always in control, dominated possession and never felt opposition was a threat. Thought Foden, Rice and Palmer played well.

Doesn’t need to be over analysed these matches- as I say, even if we did play great football and win 6/7-0 there wouldn’t be any praise because ‘it’s only Malta’
Read your second paragraph and remember we were playing Malta ffs.

Been to the game, we all know that England ain't a patch on us. When I see Phil buzzing about and his team mates tonight not being on his wavelength I see his frustration when obviously the TV don't show.
When I watch him for England with familiar football nous players i.e. his City team mates Kyle Walker, John Stones and Jack Grealish at least they can try and do something together. Sterling gets it cos he was City.
The final in euros v Italy we win that with Phil Foden. Anyway off to North Macedonia to hopefully see Rico Lewis debut and show them how it's done.

Reminder England qualified very easily, given that our group had three quarter finalists from the last Euros, and a Macedonia team that have won in Germany and Italy recently.

Italy are going through a transition period, Ukraine's record at qualifying for major tournaments isn't all that great, North Macedonia only have been at one tournament and that was because of the Nations League and they didn't qualify for that through the traditional method (4th in qualifying group) while Malta are just rubbish.

The media always use the phrase "England qualified at a canter" as good enough reason to suggest they win win the next tournament and with Southgate it won't happen.

England thrashed Ukraine at Euro 2020/21, here they drew and didn't win all that convincingly at Wembley.

Southgate, @BlueHammer85

That was.....

You are the waistcoats lovechild, there is zero reason to heap any praise on Southgate after another insipid performance, but you just can't help yourself.

this has to be a joke

Trent Alexander-Arnold - 8

Had to deal with constant bites from the Malta players who couldn't handle his movement in midfield. He was pulling the strings in the middle of the park for Southgate's men. Perhaps Jurgen Klopp should think about moving him up.
Id love to see his passing stats. Gave it away nearly every time. If he Plays there against us and turns it over as much as that then we’ll twat the dippers. Pray klopp plays him there but klopp isnt daft Unlike gormless gareth.

Malta exactly. It’s the size of a large Lidl car park and they are not even league one standard players.

The game didn’t really mean that much, with us already qualified.

I thought foden played well, but I’m not convinced by Tomori or Guehi at all. I think they look really average.

I’d be tempted to start stones in midfield and put dunk into defence
