Yup, that just maybe the case. They’re laying ground work.
We'll see what happens if/when Everton appeal. They've 7 days to lodge one.

Because balance of probability could be 51% v 49% but tossing a coin is only 50:50. Clear and obvious.Balance of probability sounds like our worst nightmare. If that's what the "Independent Panel's" decision comes down to regardless of evidence from either side, why don't they just toss a fucking coin ?
If we felt that the decision was not lawful I.e. if in our view time barring applied but the panel disagreed, could we test that in a court of law?We can appeal to an independent panel of their choosing.
We can only go to court if there are serious failings with the hearing process, but not over the evidence, facts or decisions reached.
HOWEVER, it seems the government are on it, as there have been calls today to hurry up with the creation of an independent football regulator, & sort the mess out.
My feeling is these accusations have been hanging over us for so long, they've lost their lustre of worry for sponsors.but reputational damage is greater than football
I don't know if you bothered to read how it works, the whole panel is the judge, the jury (and the executioner.) But that clause is really worrisome for me. They do not need to find us guilty or caught red-handed on any single charge, just to have a hunch we are guilty WE ARE DONE!
And the geezer who picked the panel to find make judgement had also picked the appeal panel. From the same pool of 'the experts'. Just to think somebody thought this out without any questions asked is insane. Unbelievable Jeff!
No. We can only refer to court over agregious failures with the actual process. If we felt that the decision was not lawful I.e. if in our view time barring applied but the panel disagreed, could we test that in a court of law?
sorry i mean of panel judging caseMy feeling is these accusations have been hanging over us for so long, they've lost their lustre of worry for sponsors.
Most sponsors will probably make provisions in any contract to protect themselves, & take the view that they'll cross those resultant bridges if/when they ever get to them.
Seems like madness. The Premier League could pick on any club they don't like, have a hunch they are guilty of some trumped up charges, toss a coin and destroy them?I don't know if you bothered to read how it works, the whole panel is the judge, the jury (and the executioner.) But that clause is really worrisome for me. They do not need to find us guilty or caught red-handed on any single charge, just to have a hunch we are guilty WE ARE DONE!

We can't appeal to anyone if we disagree with the verdict.
It depends on the rules the panel have to abide by, & the level of proof required.sorry i mean of panel judging case
i didnt word it well
Think it was 6m overspend. For uefa 300k fine is massive but they are much stricter
FFP is now beneficial to us. The rags are snookered because of it.The funny thing about all these Bollocks about FFP and punishing clubs is The Premier League invited outside investments to all those clubs, Fit and Proper tests were taken. The Premier League Welcome them with open arms and the money clubs spent on new players. top-level managers and building better stadiums were all applauded, Then the Premier League used them to promote the league worldwide by helping them sell the TV rights.
So what happened, Well that's the easy Question, United Stopped Winning Titles. it was so easy to see.
The Premier League was becoming stale and a one-club league with United winning so many titles in a space of 10 years, Even the so-called Mighty Liverpool could never get close to winning the title,
The Glazers are not the problem at United it's the 4 or 5 other clubs that have had outside investments and are mostly likely to win the title before United win it again,
Fuck United I say, The Premier League is doing very well with selling the tv rights without them winning the title.
I even think the Premier League have finally seen they don't need United being top dogs anymore because the worldwide fan base likes watching the best players and managers playing great football at other clubs than United.
FFP did not work in the only job it was set up for Stopping Manchester City, Now United are fucked and the Media Scum reporters are scraping the bottom of the barrel that keeps them in a job
That's my hope, however will they relitigate cases retrospectively?By the time it’s resolved an independent regulator may be in place and have something to say about this…
I think the immediate deduction of the points is something of a red herring and it smacks of the letter from PL clubs demanding that the ban and fine on City should be imposed if City delayed proceedings at CAS. In fact CAS didn't even consider the demand because City never asked for a delay but it is unlikely CAS would have agreed. PL rules do lay down a procedure of appeal and it would be perverse to impose a penalty before the amechanism for appeals had been exhausted.No. Everton lost their points immediately, regardless of a pending appeal.
If Everton do appeal & the points deduction remains until the outcome, it becomes abundantly clear what the PL insidious plan is for City.
Throw the book at us, & we're out of the CL for a season or two because of the initial sanction, & until the appeal is heard.
Either way, I now see a potential way for them to seriously affect us even if the charges don't stick.
The PL's strategy will become clear if as expected Everton appeal.
My understanding is that in Tribunals, Arbitrations, Mediations etc., errors in law would be grounds for appeal. So, whilst we can’t appeal if we don’t agree with the verdict if the panellists made a mistake in applying the law there could be an appeal.No. We can only refer to court over agregious failures with the actual process.
We can't appeal to anyone if we disagree with the verdict.
Any incoming regulator isn’t going to be going back and reviewing old decisions.By the time it’s resolved an independent regulator may be in place and have something to say about this…
The tribunal panel will encompass extremely competent, respected KC’s who can demand an absolute fortune for their services. They’re not going to be putting themselves in position to be leaned on to make any ruling, nor are they going to allow any partisan considerations to influence their decisions.I suppose it could create reputational damage for panel members, if it's viewed they knowingly took part in a kangaroo court.
