Liverpool (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Disappointing result. Our squad strength is lighter and weaker than last season. I know it's early days for them before I'm jumped on but Nunez and Kovacic look poor panic buys

Upfront we are poor. Foden has treaded water for a couple of years now. He still lacks consistency and hasn't reached the levels everyone thought he would. Alvarez blows hot and cold. Doku has promise, Grealish we know about. All of them don't score enough to help Haaland out. We need a powerful goalscoring Tevez type but where are they?

We also seem easier to play through this season and to get at our defence.

It's weird. There are times you can see how good we are, in the first half at times Liverpool couldn't get near us. We were robbed though, no way was that a foul on Alison it was a ridiculous decision.

Still we are top for now but our last two games we have the see them as four points dropped.
Are you feeling all right? Foden? Grealish? Alvarez? For couple of years? These guys won us treble, few others trophies recent seasons and playing well this season.
So poor, premature, emotional take - disgusting.

I’ve watched it three or four times now, barely a nudge. A challenge in the air, for the ball is what Akanji made and as far as I’m aware, is allowed within the laws of the game. Referee made a balls up, simple as that.
Ref did exactly what he is paid for , as do most of the officials when we play the victims

Think you can tell from the lack of subs that Pep didn't think Lewis, Gvardiol, etc. were fit enough either. Liverpool themselves were flat too - when they nicked that equaliser I thought they'd go on and win it but they just switched back into second gear and didn't push. Both managers will go away happy enough.
He rarely subs the defense in that situation, so not surprised to see no changes there - defenders were all doing fine anyway. So I think that is less about fitness. But am surprised Lewis didn’t get some time.

Second game on the trot where a draw feels like a defeat, although this one I feel we should have won. It‘s going to be a long hard season. On the positive side we have KDB back in the not too distant future. We really miss a player of his quality.

Definitely points dropped, we were both pretty awful, our attacking play is worrying when the players aren't having a good day and we seem to have a stupid goal in us when we start messing about at the back. Feels like a loss to me, referee was the opposite of a homer, he was fucking useless.

The match today was evidence that the international breaks should somehow be limited to one prior to Christmas and one afterwards. Neither team looked particularly comfortable with their teammates.
Overall, a fair result, although I think that our second goal should have stood.
C'mon you Bees.

1-0 vs Wolves and we lose, 4-3 up vs Chelsea and we draw, 1-0 up here today and we draw.

its becoming theme, we need to work out and solve this issue before another 3 games of leading but not having the killer instinct to kill it off before we allow them back in. improvement needed both upfront and at the back too.
+controlling the midfield too.

quite a sick season with multiple teams so close.
if fucking rags grab a win tomorrow they are only 5 points worse than us after 13 rounds, that is sick given how awful they are.
Draw or win V Leipzig and we can fully focus on PL until February

13 rounds? You watching boxing?

Should have won happy with a draw as we were letting them have too much space.

Played with a bit of fear I thought today & Rodri desperately needed Lewis next to him.

No idea why pep didn’t take Alvarez off for another holding midfielder thought it cost us in the end.

Doku, Bernie & ake very good the rest very average today

Sadly 2 points dropped

Agree but think pep takes into consideration games players have played! Lewis coming on for Alvarez would liked to see especially on the break Lewis for a 19 year old knows the right pass at the right time

I feel like we threw that game away, we were the better team by far, certainly the better footballing side.
Our inability to break and make the correct decisions with the final ball was disappointing. There was also far too much side to side and passing backwards.
We had a very weak bench today and there were no realistic options to bring on who could change the game.

Will take that, always been a case of staying in the chasing pack until we get the big boys back when it matters.
We are all good.

We don’t want to make it look too easy, bit of fencing every now and again.

Let’s make a rush for it from April and head for the summit
