An immense talent..
There are literally 16 touches worth of difference, and 9 ball recoveries difference between them?Rambling? Ok, more rambling coming in.
Like I said a midfielder's role is to bring balance and control to the team. There's a reason Pep uses Phil wide. I hate to do the comparison thing but I had to bring up the stats for this one.
Notice the touches, ball recovery, passes attempted, passes completed and the forward passes. This IS the job of a technically gifted midfielder. As time goes on Phil would most likely evolve into this role but for now he is not the best technically gifted midfielder why? Because he is yet to become the "complete" midfielder that Dave was and Kdb is for us at the moment. It's not a matter of opinions and it's doesn't make me a rag for making this observation.

They don't play in the same position, you are totally right on that but like I said earlier on there is a reason Pep prefers playing Phil wide. He is not yet technically gifted enough to play in the traditional midfield role. So you saying he is our most technically gifted midfielder is a mistake that you made one that I can only assume was influenced by silly ratings from Playstation video games. Phil isn't second to Odegaard in anyway...other than technique wise.I literally don't know what you're doing. You're now comparing two completely different types of players who don't play in the same position and have completely different strengths to each other. Very weird.
I'll say no more. Other than "Technique" wise, Foden is not second to Odegaard in any dimension.

Wait… Foden is not technically gifted enough to play in the traditional midfield role….! Wow. Rarely have I heard such bollocks. I assume you are new to football. Either that or you are in the wind up..They don't play in the same position, you are totally right on that but like I said earlier on there is a reason Pep prefers play Phil wide. The point is Odegaard is more of a complete midfielder in the traditional sense of what a midfielder is, one that can play across the midfield similar to David Silva,Kdb and Bernie. While at the moment Phil is a dynamic and brilliant wide player. Many have called on Pep to play him more centrally but there's a reason why Pep hasn't given much consideration to those calls. Phil would grow into that player soon but not yet. So this talk of being the most technically gifted midfielder in the club needs to be put to rest for now. Its ridiculousThere are literally 16 touches worth of difference, and 9 ball recoveries difference between them?
I'm confused as to what you're point is...
Like you, elated that people are now seeing it. Yes, it’s easy to wax lyrical about youth players when they play at EDS level but he played with maturity at that level. Never rushed, picked his moments and composure in spades. He's a supreme talent. His movement, vision, control and weight of pass mark him out, for me, as potentially a top player in our first team. I have watched him for a long time and what he is doing in the first team is what he did in the academy. Making that transition seem so natural is a very rare quality.
Totally new to Football mate. I guess those of us who share the same opinion as Pep need some more time to understand the beautiful game.Wait… Foden is not technically gifted enough to play in the traditional midfield role….! I’m all for people having their own opinions but this is genuinely bizarreTotally new to Football mate. I guess those of us who share the same opinion as Pep need some more time to understand the beautiful game.

I mean Sir Gareth of Waistcoat did say recently that Foden ‘couldn’t play centrally’ which is why he’s parked out wide internationally. Now obviously he’s not exactly some football savant but it’s not like it’s not a view some in football hold.Wait… Foden is not technically gifted enough to play in the traditional midfield role….! Thinking Phil is the most technically gifted player in the team is totally insane and completely stupid and what I'd expect from someone who just started watching football about 5 years agoI’m all for people having their own opinions but this is genuinely bizarre
