PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Charged in March, punishment handed down in November

So within a year, hahaha

It stinks, I can bet anything solid found in the Manchester City case would have been punished and strongly punished by now, Demoted and £100s £millions in fines and spending caps in place for years

It's just dirty mudding the waters of our greatest period in football, Even a little stain will last forever on our glory
Scum red tops like United and Liverpool will dark our glory with false claims, BUT dare to bring up anything in their past glory years and how they got away with cheating and murder all hell breaks loose

You're missing the important point though, that Everton admitted the breach/charges, whereas we've denied all wrongdoing

I see your point and surely if that was the case, the PL board wouldn't have alleged anything knowing they were throwing money down the toilet.

Pretty much the biggest part of my point.

That does NOT equate to me thinking that the charges themselves do have or must have substance. It just means I believe the PL must, to some extent at least, think that. For this to be where it is.

Carrying on from previous posts ……..
Billionaire Joe Lewis (Spurs) is due in court in the UK later this month ………

Pithy and perceptive take, GDM, I couldn’t agree more.

I think the end game - apart from the spike of purple-veined outrage when it goes nowhere - is solely to damage us in the ‘court of public opinion.’

Strangely, I became more optimistic when I thought about the ‘115 charges.’ Why announce so many, when, if the PL really had concrete evidence of valid breaches, they could be distilled into a handful of more comprehensible charges? After all, a BIG NUMBER surely condemns us. How could we possibly be innocent of all 115?

It just smacks of theatricality, trying too hard. Nonetheless it makes great headlines, but the PL clearly missed the mantra of ‘less is more.’ Especially if they have irrefutable evidence.

Like you, I’m quite confident of the outcome.
Whatever happens next it's a win/win for the premier league as rival fans will just say we've paid off the charges

If the PL don't hit the club with a big points deduction then Masters is toast, a new CEO will he appointed and, with the regulator looming, there will be none of this red shirt approval business. Sounds like a win for the club to me ......

And the irony being that had the premier League not dropped the bombshell of 115 charges, we probably wouldn't have won the 5 trophies in a calendar year

You do realise how different the two cases are? In both nature and scale, right. As has been shown on this thread a fair few times.

That is why I want us to have dirt on every single club or person who has tried doing us, and for it to come out for everyone to see in the court case.

How can Masters hit us with a points deduction when it will be down to the independent panel, or are you suggesting it's not independent

Is that the guy that ‘no longer owns Spurs’ ? Wonder what he has done with his majority shares.
Will be intriguing for sure . It is no wonder Levy has gone underground, he will surely be implicated somewhere. Not hardly even a mention in the UK media unlike our 115 “charges” .
Lewis also charged with 16 counts of fraud in the USA .

I am suggesting the PL is the claimant and they have to provide the evidence on which the panel, after considering counter evidence, decides. It is a failure of the PL if they can't prove their charges and, as they have worked everyone up into a points deduction frenzy, Masters is toast if it doesn't happen.

I remember way back when PB told us that at a meeting at the club (2019?) he was told that UEFA had no evidence other than 6 stolen emails. This was greeted by those there with incredulity followed by uproarious laughter. When the matter went before CAS UEFA produced no evidence beyond 6 emails, 2 of which had been doctored. When CAS ruled in our favour the PL was quick to announce that its investigation was not at an end, though it did go rather quiet. Then early last year the PL produced its 115 charges of financial impropriety against our club, the richest (in FFP terms in the world!). A cynic might think that the failure of FFP to halt our path to legitimate riches, not relying on dirty oil money at all, City's wealth must be the result of cheating, MUST BE! PB reported that the new life in the PL's crusade was not in fact driven by Masters and Co, but was the result of pressure, especially from Levy. Tolmie said that his information was that the PL wanted nothing to do with the affair.

All this raises the question of the evidence - if any - which is the basis of the charges, which seem very similar to those brought by UEFA. At that time, despite City's claim that the charges were untrue (completely untrue) there were periodic claims that UEFA's case was proven beyond all doubt, that they had a 'smoking gun' and that this was in the documents provided by City. In the event they had only 6 tatty, stolen emails and there was evidence of doctoring. This does raise the question of what evidence does the PL have which was not available to UEFA, who found it and where did they find it? It is inconceivable that a perusal of our accounts has unearthed over 100 irregularities which had escaped notice (as in the 1906 case!). UEFA could not shake the belief that our accounts were fair and complete and CAS ruled that there was evidence to support any of the charges. I cannot see how the PL/cartel can do any better...
